I recently bought a rechargeable trimmer from ebay. Since my hostel's address is not serviced by couriers, I ordered it to my friend's house.

However, due to some unavoidable circumstances, my friend had to go out of station for a few days. I thought that the courier would return to the seller & i'll get my money refunded as his door would be locked.

However, the tracking shows that the item has been delivered to a person having the same name as that of my friend (but with a different surname).

I am sure that my friend has not received the item. How could someone else know about the package and pretend to be my friend & receive it ?

I'm not able to go to the courier office as I'm also back home for holidays.

Any chance for me to get back my money from ebay ? Do courier companies themselves do such fraud ?

I can provide tracking details if needed.

Please suggest.

I am in same $h!t as you DTDC has delivered an item but not at my place. Speak to seller and ebay then raise a claim in ebay.

Courier companies such as dtdc, professional , firstflight etc do this on a regular basis.

try to talk to the seller as he must be using this courier regular so he can talk to FF else loose business etc... see if thsi work, also write a mail to ebay CC.

I spoke to seller but never got reply , spoke to ebay also they asked me to wait till evening. In the mean time i called DTDC and used some soft $&@ words , in less than 20 minutes i got a call from brother saying he has got the courier.

Still cant say anything untill i see it personally. Seller is going to get neutral feedback for this.

add BlueDart to the list. My Rs.7000 mobo was delivered to a completely different address let alone name.

Firstflight is the most pathetic courier company in India. I don't buy anything from seller if he/she ships it through FF.

I have had negative experience all 5 times I dealt with them.

Just call ebay & complain them. Start posting on their FB page. Post the link to this thread too

Alright. Thanks.

The seller has responded that he'll check with the courier & get me the details.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Good to see that Metalspree's issue was resolved.

UPDATE:

This is what the seller has to say:

On checking that same was delivered

It's low value item hence we cannot even doubt the courier company

The seller isn't cooperating on the issue.

What should I do know ??

Contact ebay. Register a complaint.

Post your case on their FB account. And also link it to this thread

Wait till the last day for you to confirm the package and raise a complaint in ebay saying it was not delivered to me . Do not mentioned friend or he was out of town just say i was sitting all day at home and no one turned up and was shocked to see tracking saying it was delivered, also mention in the complaint the exact same reply given by seller and also say he in unco-operative .eBay will help you out

^^ That's the way I'll raise the issue. But I already opened a case as the tracking is of 15th March. Would that be an issue ??

What is the last date eBay gave time for the seller to make sure product reaches you ??. In my case i purchased it on 6th , it was shipped on 11 and today was the last date ebay gave it to the seller . Even though there was goof up i did get it in time.

It is weird that the item was booked on 14th March at Kolkata & delivered next morning at 10:30. So fast!!

Last date is 22nd March.

Wait till 22nd March and on 23rd March you will see a option next to item required saying item not required hit that and create a case. Before doing all this put a word to ebay Customer care on Monday morning so that they have a record that u indeed reported the fraud

I would agree to the fact that first flight is indeed the most pathetic courier service. I'm from Mumbai, whenevr I hv ordered any electronic product, that got delivered via first flight, I have always been charged an octroi @ 5%. I dont understand hw is it that no other company charges me an octroi and first flight always does. This forces me to beleive that the first flight guys have some nexus with the octroi officers. Anyone from Mumbai please avoid transactIng if the courier company is FF
