zeroed on card-Verbatim 8gb. class4.

Wavering in pen drive: HP or Verbatim or Sony. In our company, employee have privileged option to buy online. There are several models of sandisk, kingston, HP, PNY & Sony.

Which is better?HP, PNY & Sony? (I put aside sandisk & kingston now). I want speedy & reliable gear. HP 210w suggested by JuGGa is also available.

Go for HP blindly, you won't regret. Have been using HP drives from 3 years. And yeah, don't go for sliding ones, they're pain in rear. Also don't forget to apply coupon.
<

I personally prefer Sandisk, Transcend and Kingston for pendrives. Considering that you'll only be using the drive for the car stereo, why are you so concerned about minor speed differences? Go for the Sandisk Cruzer Blade. Cheapest drive out there and carries a 5 year warranty. I am using one currently.

No offence bro, but Sandisk Cruzer is the one of the worst out there with most pathetic speeds. I'll just ask you one question- If you're getting 8Mb/s speed against 3-4MB/s with just an additional cost odd 50 rs, why not go for it?

I agree, the Sandisk Cruzer blade should be banned from the market , it is the shittiest pen drive ever and rivals with the USB 1.1 standard for transfer speeds.

^^ None taken!

My point was that as the drive was gonna be used in a car audio setup, speed hardly mattered. I just like the form factor of the Cruzer Blade more than the HP drives.
<

But it's my personal opinion. The OP is free to choose what he likes. However, if he chooses the Sony sliding model, it would be a bad choice. The sliding mech is pathetic!

All big brothers here, thanks for personal opinions....

As I said before, Sandisk & Kingston out of mind. I wish to use with car stereo as well for PC. Personally inclined towards HP & Sony but think to go with HP 210w now.

Now coming next question is HP210w would be USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 compatible? I don't know (how careless I!!) my PC USB 2.0 or 3.0? How can i know? Check all device mangers details (file attached) but fail.

USB 3.0 drives are backwards compatible with USB 2.0 computers. I think the 210w is only available in 2.0 flavor. How old is your PC? If it is more than 6 months old, it is highly unlikely that you are having USB 3.0!!

Your USB is 2.0. Ways to identify- Most 3.0 are blue in color (though some exceptions like Dv6 are there), plus you would see 3.0 driver in Device manager which is absent in your case.

Now, HP 210w is 2.0. Its not available in 3.0, rather I haven't seen HP 3.0 drives. But its useless to go for a 3.0 pen drive unless you have a 3.0 port.

Also, 3.0 is backward compatible with 2.0, how can it be that 2.0 drive can be 3.0 compatible?

I hope all your doubts are cleared now, go ahead and buy

2. HP V155w:- Read-30 (repeat 30!!) mb/s & write-8mb/s, 10 years warranty, slim, thin & swivel design, water resistant. All @Rs.454

3. Verbatim store 'n' Go pin Stripe:- 10mb/s transfer speed, @Amazing price-Rs.333/- only!

4. Transcend JF560:- sliding & easy plug & play design, R-18mb/s & W-6mb/s, similar design to HP210w @Rs.409/-

1) Nothing left to be said.

2) It was my first pen drive and IT DOES NOT GIVES 30MB/s SPEED. It gives same speed as above and its not even water resistant. My same PD got kaput when it remained lie down on ground under effect of rain for 1 day
<
I couldn't get its replacement as I lost its bill. Moreover, its DISCONTINUED AFAIK.

3) Haven't tried. BTW where its available for 333/- ?

4) Can't trust Transcend, but it doesn't mean it can't be good. If you can, go ahead and buy.
<

5) You can give it a try.

The Transcend drive will be reliable. But I cannot comment on the quality of the sliding mech.

HP is good enough. Kingston and Verbatim too will be reliable. But if the Verbtim costs just 333, go for it!

BTW, #Doremon, please let us know as well where the Verbatim is available for 333!

^^ This is my third purchase from Snapdeal. I recieved the first 2 orders in exactly 4 days from the date of purchase. Well, 5 days actually but then, one of the days was a Sunday.

Warranty is covered by the respective service centre. They do provide a proper bill with VAT/TIN Number. Go ahead and buy it... They are pretty reliable in my opinion.
