The mother of all Dell leaks just dropped into our laps, and the absolute highlight has to be the Lightning, a Windows Phone 7 portrait slider. That's right -- a portrait slider. The renders on these slides look slick as hell, but they're no match for the spec sheet, which looks even better: 1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon processor, WVGA 4.1-inch OLED display, AT&T and T-Mobile 3G, five megapixel autofocus camera, 1GB of flash with 512MB RAM plus 8GB of storage on a MicroSD card (non-user-replaceable, we're assuming), GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio, and full Flash support including video playback

Dell plans to fashion this thing out of a slice of "curved glass," topping out at 11mm thick with a 3.5-inch WVGA LCD, 850 / 1900 / 2100MHz HSPA topping out at 14.4Mbps down and 5.6Mbps "or better" on the upstream, a 5 megapixel autofocus cam with image stabilization and smile / blink detection, 512MB of RAM and ROM with microSD expansion up to 64GB (Dell's clearly assuming there'll be 64GB microSD cards by next year), WiFi, TV-out, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 3.0, and a Qualcomm MSM7230 core humming along at 800MHz.

Thank God I didn't give in to temptation and pick up the HD2last month.. With the Incredible, EVO and now this Win phone 7 beauty (and other upcoming Win phone 7 mobiles later this year) looks like the landscape of mobiles is going to get a major facelift this year.. :)

Really? You have the patience to wait 8-9 months? And by the time this is available in retail, I am sure there will be news of the next super phones to come out in 2011 (and something else to lust after). It never ends!!

Expected price? When is launch expected? I hope they launch before my current phone becomes due for replacement.(Using Nokia 1202 :p)

I'm not the buy-and-sell-after-few-months phones kind of guy. That kind of behavior is only for my computer parts. :P

If and when I buy a phone, it is going to be with me for quite some time. What I meant by the HD2 comment was that I was happy I didn't invest 38k on Windows mobile 6.5 when Win mobile 7 is a different beast altogether. Now, with Android becoming a very strong competitor to the iPhone OS (apparently now we have an iPhone 4G on the cards too, and not too far in the future), it is prudent to wait and see which OS is the best after the initial hiccups - Windows phone 7, Android or iPhone OS.

Just check out the vids and pics (though I'm sure you must have) of Windows phone 7, HTC incredible, HTC Evo 4G etc. The future of mobile phones, they are! :)
