Flash videos stopped playing in Firefox after flash player update.

Updated the flash player this morning and after that Firefox is acting weird. Flash videos have stopped playing completely. Cannot play any videos on YouTube / daily motion. It works fine in chrome and opera though. I tried removing and reinstalling Firefox and even the flash player but in vain. What seems to be the issue?

Yeah this is an issue. I am also facing the same issue from last 2 days on FF 13.
Many a times closing FF also does not work. You have to kill the process from Task Manager to be able to start a new instance of the browser.

good thing i did not update it. what bugs me is that the updater said it will autoupdate in 30 days after i clicked on cancel. need some better alternative for this pos from adobe.

^ Sounds more like an FF issue than Flash! Either way, Adobe, MS or any other commercial software vendor doesn't force you to use their software, so you have alternatives like HTML 5

There is an update available which fixes this issue.
But it enables SPDY by default on all websites.
Firefox 13.0.1 is available for download.

Update for firefox is available which fixes this ?
Also what is SPDY ?

SPDY is a new http like protocol which is developed by google and now Mozilla team has added the support for this new protocol in their browser and soon every browser would support this protocol once it becomes a standard... Actually SPDY is nothing but a new protocol which loads webpages faster than http protocol... And I don't think SPDY has anything to do with this issue, the new flash player is the culprit...

Check this link out, it may help you to resolve the issue for the timebeing until Firefox or Adobe come up with a solution for this issue : http://news.softpedia.com/news/Work...-Crashes-and-Problems-in-Firefox-275984.shtml

The best possible option to solve this issue is, downgrade it to 11.2 version :)

Sorry I confused you by mentioning the SPDY thing along with the Flash update release news :(
SPDY has got nothing to do with the recent crashed of FF13.0
Its a diff thing like #Hades already mentioned.
Anyways.... #Raksrules ... The issue caused by FF13 and the flash player getting crashed is resolved by the update of FF 13.0.1
I have installed it on Saturday and its working fine till now....

After updating to 13.01, my firefox is behaving strange. If i click on back or forward buttons it goes back/forward 2-3 pages instead of just last page, sometimes right to start of new tab page. Stupid thing is driving me nuts.

i too am facing this problem dont know when firefox got updated. When flash stops working internet also stops working, now website loads in any browser and CPU usage is stuck at 50%. Only restarting pc solves the usage problem even logging off wont help.

You can kill the ff / flash player task from the task manager. after that FF will start normally.
But I have not experienced this issue even once after installing the 13.0.1 update. Also downgrading may be a workaround but not a solution. It exposes you to all other threats and vulnerabilities that were present then but could be fixed in 13.0.1. Not to mention that FF will continuously bug you to update if you are on a lower version :) which I find really annoying with any software.

First of all many thanks @Hades. for posting this link earlier in the thread: Workarounds and Fixes for Flash 11.3 Crashes and Problems in Firefox - Softpedia

I was plagued with Flash problems for a few days now (after updating Flash). No videos were loading on Youtube, Jtv etc., none at all. Finally tried a few things, beginning with reading the above link, and now everything is working well. Here's what I did:

Uninstalled Flash completely (followed the steps here: Adobe Forums: How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?)
Restarted PC
Downloaded and installed 10.3 build
Restarted PC
Checked and saw everything running well, videos loading flawlessly. :)
Disabled Flash update by changing settings in the Flash GNSP.

Now I'm hoping the annoying Flash related problem doesn't come back again!
