Flashing Xbox 360 bought from USA

Hey guys, I bought a 360 from USA about a year back and I wanna flash it myself when I get home. It has either a BenQ drive or a LiteOn (not sure). I was just wondering if it was as simple as opening up the 360, connecting it via SATA to my computer and running jungleflasher to flash iextreme LT?

Also, if I want to run a USA 360 back home, can I just buy a power brick of an Indian xbox and use it directly or is it better to get a step-down converter and use the power brick i got

The difficulty level of flashing the drive depends on the make of the dvd drive & your skill level.. Its better you first determine which dvd drive you have.. You can get help for drive identification here..

If its a benq drive, then the flashing part is pretty much straight forward.. Things get a bit complicated for Liteon's.. Except for the 83850C v1 drives, you need extra hardware & some soldering to get the job done..

I'm gonna open up the faceplate and check, pretty sure its a BenQ.. thanks for the help :)

Anyone know where I can get an Indian xbox 360 power supply from? I'd rather use that instead of getting a step-down converter. Should I just get one from Ebay?

The manufactured date and also the Power supply details will more or less tell you which drive it is. If you dont know PM them to me and I can try and find out. I can also help you with modding it if needed.

Go for a step-down transformer instead, cause you need to buy the right power supply as the newer ones dont work with the older xboxes because of lower requirements and all.

Thanks, I searched on http://www.360drives.com/list?v_pac...no=0834&v_team=CSON&v_country=CA&v_perpage=50, looks like I have a Lite-On :( guess I'm better off getting it modded by someone in Mumbai then rather than do it myself. Anyone know what is the best place to get a Lite-On flashed in Mumbai?

The problem is I couldn't find a step-down transformer easily in Pune and the one I got burnt out my power supply so I had to buy a new one, hence this time I thought I'd just buy an Indian power supply.

Shouldn't this one work? eBay page says Input: AC: 200-240V 2.7A 47-63Hz.Output: DC:12V 16.5A, 5Vsb 1A.Output DC 203W

Only thing is, my Xbox says 14.2A instead of 16.5A, will this adapter above cause any problems?

dude even if you have a liteon there are four different models, each having different level of complexity to mod...liteon 83850v1 is the easiest, then is 74850, then 83850v2 and 9****(these require soldering)... tell me ur mfg date and lot number

I had a BenQ Drive .. I know Liteon Drive is little hard to flash but still you can do it safely and easily

BenQ is easy to flash.. The new liteons require cutting some traces & soldering on the drive pcb.. If well versed with soldring, flashing it won't be a big deal..
