[Solved] [Flipkart] No bill with monitor? So what about warranty.

PoBoy

Juggernaut
I just bought a LG QP550 monitor from Flipkart. The monitor was delivered but there doesn't seem to be a bill (with the monitor serial number or something).
TEF Ref

The monitor has a three year warrrany, so how do I show the date of purchase in case I need support?

EDIT : See post number #7 for answer

OK I figured it out.
My Orders -> this item -> Download invoice (has date, serial no., etc

Even if you didn't order via the app you must have entered your phone number during checkout, Login to flipkart using that same phone number and check under orders to see if it shows a listing for the monitor, it should have an option to print/download invoice somewhere there.

Guess I was late haha.

Wish I had bought a 27 inch monitor. Buyers remorse.

Newer monitors seem to be better than the ones I have, one is 10 years old, the other 6 years.

The monitor is good but I had a FHD monitor, so will take some adjusting.

But movies and pics do look much better. Text takes getting used to. I'm not a gamer.
At my (senior citizen) age adjusting takes time, LOL.

Edit : I really like the tilt, and height adjustment features.

btw one last question...what is the manufacturing date of the product in the monitor box ? are they selling old product or newly manufactured ?

August 2024.

I'm considering getting a 27 inch QHD or a 24 inch FHD and selling this one.
Video and images display very well. I do a bit of photo editing and it's so much better on this monitor.
However, I'm finding text a bit difficult. Might be a age (i.e. eyesight) related issue.

I'll use it again tomorrow and decide, maybe I'm being a bit hasty. Or, I need to tweak some settings.

Flipkart does not provide serial number on invoices except IMEI for mobiles phones. They write model number instead.
Call up brand customer care and enquire if they provide warranty without serial number on invoice. If brand allows online registration, you might be safe. Don't throw away the box.
Do whatever Fk wont provide revised invoice.
Amz had provided invoice with serial number when I raised the issue with them, seller called and sent invoice with sr no., but Fk doesn't gives a fk.

I got the invoice that has a serial number. I'll check if it matches the serial number on the monitor (or box?). Will post tomorrow.

I was figuring out how to improve text on this monitor and ChatGPT informed me about a new Segoe UI font on Windows 11.
Some of you may find it useful so :
2. Consider Segoe UI Variable (Windows 11)

If you’re on Windows 11, Microsoft now ships Segoe UI Variable, a single font file that dynamically interpolates weight:

Settings > Personalization > Fonts > Segoe UI Variable
You can slide the weight from Light up through Semibold and Bold.

This avoids replacing files on disk and tends to play nicer with all apps.

What a Variable Font Is

A variable font is a single font file that can smoothly morph between font styles (like weight, width, slant) using a range, not fixed steps.

For example:

Segoe UI: you pick either Regular (400) or Semibold (600).

Segoe UI Variable: you can pick any weight between 100–900, e.g., 530 if that’s ideal for you.

Practical Benefits of Segoe UI Variable
1. Smoother Font Scaling

On high-DPI displays (like your 24″ QHD), it allows for:

Better weight balance (not too thin, not too bold).

Cleaner rendering without needing font substitution hacks.

2. Fewer Layout Bugs

Instead of replacing system fonts with heavier variants (like Semibold), which can cause UI misalignment, Segoe UI Variable works with Windows’s layout engine natively.
3. Optimized for Modern Displays

Segoe UI Variable is designed to render better at higher resolutions, with:

Improved hinting

Better line spacing

More readable at small sizes
