imo, it'll be our loss. without FDA I don't think Amazon (any other foreign player) coming anywhere soon.

Junglee is no competition to anybody.
 
If the buyout happened then to cope up with competitions Flipkart need to be aggrasive in pricing.

In my opinion this will help us all in terms of better service and pricings..

and for Coupons hope letsbuy buyout will given FK some fresh ideas

flipkart has no offers whatsoever.the only thing it provides is good customer service and great shipping.

as of now the only sites where you can get any offers are ebay and hs18.

Negative reviews and CSC are ever changing. With this acquisition, they will get the customer base of LSB and can change the negatives with their good Customer support.

But will miss the LSB coupons

I'm not sure if this is good or bad.

Sure the CC and shipping will be better but to put things in perspective, its like Apple buying Samsung.

Such a thing would not be allowed outside India due to some law whose name I can't seem to remember.

The same law blocked AT&T from buying T-mobile.

Competition is supposed to good for the industry. Now Flipkart will be the dominant force with no one to challenge it.

Any other companies will have to reduce prices and/or start giving coupons, which will reduce their margin or might even shut them down.

They will not be able to revert back to the original prices after they get a customer base as if the price is the same/similar one would use FK instead.

I have been buying online for sometime now, and more frequently of late, and with the right clicks (and some amount of good luck), one can get save loads of time. Brands also have standard sizes, so haven't ever faced problem with a misfit when buying a brand.
 
main reason why i buy online is the amount of choice i get. if i walk into a store, i will get to see only the specific models the dealer chooses to keep for reasons best known to him. thus, i'll only get a small choice to choose from. yes, i could search the web and find specific models of my choice based on technical specs, but there is no guarantee that the dealer will keep that model number or go the extra step to procure it for me. there is also the price advantage factor.

HS18 is much better if one wants books. They have decent discounts and ever present coupons. Shiping was NBD and the packing was bullet proof(Better than flipkart!) They also bundled a luxor pen with every book! Look no further than HS18 for books.

The deal is pretty good for consolidation. Flipkart delivered some electronic goods like TV only for select locations unlike letsbuy. Hope for better selection and hope they pass on the savings they get to the end customer.
