Yes indeed. But I captured a pic just before it was removed (again)

Ya i forgot to capture:) i was about to order and it went down.

I checked FAQs it was mentioned 99% of catalogue will have 320kbps bitrate.

I wanted to capture the home page but it too was gone. I don't know how to access google cached pages

They have a DL manager too. Should make sorting things easier.

Anything about the DL limit in FAQ?

ya there was download manager ,i tried to download but it gave error.

Didnt check DL limit but i think i read somewhere one song can be downloaded max 5 times.

So all in all looks promising.

I highly this would be successful. Aren't we famous for piracy & for not paying things online ?

Looks like the pricing is going to be sensible. I, for one, am sure that I will pay for music as long as it is priced well, with the indian consumer in mind. I am quite excited. Even more excited with the news that flipkart will be launching a epub store pretty soon as well

years back in 2005 or 2006, i had downloaded paid music from some indian site on vsnl india page. they too had some 5 downloads limitation. and surprisingly there was almost no drm on the files. you could copy it to mp3 player or cd and it would still play. the site closed down i think. bitrate was 128Kbps.

i prefer them to put up the songs in ogg or flac with max compression. comes to about just 15-20Mb per song. sounds way better than 320Kbps mp3.

You just mentioned a global phenomenon.

Even I am waiting for CD quality audio downloads. Or at least some lossless format. It would be sweet then.

I find some old songs in 128 Kbps. The format is MP3. I would love to have FLACs for download.

5 times max download is a downside IMO. They should let the user have their files retrievable

We still have hungama.com which has some really cool plans. There is an offer where you can download 99 tracks for Rs. 99 and that too DRM-free! The big downside with them is most, if not all, of their collection is in 128 kbps!

EDIT

its been taken down now. So they may be testing it.

MODS can change the thread title as its still not launched. They may be testing it thts why came for a brief period.

Thats great news, I would surely buy from them.

Their 99 bucks per month subscription offer is even better as you get unlimited downloads AND can stop the subscription anytime.

Not wanting to spoil the party but I believe that eventually most of us are still gonna use $0ng5.pk for most of their desi music requirements!

Great news.Good possibility that Ebooks might follow. They have obviosuly been working on it for quiet some time now. Look at this reply from Flipkart CS to a mail i sent on July 2011......

Ummm..no actually. Their 99 bucks per month plan gives you DRMed tracks which kinda sucks!
