Flyte digital music store launched by Flipkart

Flipkart has finally launched their much awaited digital media store. The company has just opened Flyte and you can start purchasing music right away!
Song pricing starts at Rs. 6 per track. Songs are DRM free and are available in CD quality. The best quality on offer is 320kbps though some songs could only be available in inferior quality.

Yes, however, pricing for the newer albums is not good, IMO. I guess they are charging ~costs as that of a CD

But main thing is we dont have to buy entire album for only 1 or 2 good songs in that album. So that saves us the money.

Yup, but still, albums should be cheaper than total cost of all songs, IMO.
Anyways, its a good platform for music.
Hope they have some giveaways too.
30 seconds previews available for each song - ala iTunes store! Hopefully this starts a revolution of sorts in India where people will actually start buying music legally!

but their choice of formats is silly.
They should have chosen, 320, 256, and 196 as last option. 64 kbps is horrible audio quality. Or best of all flac. Let the listener decide what he wants with the flac, viz. encode it to other formats etc.

Quite surprised to see bands like Immortal, Moonsorrow, Swallow the Sun, Candlemass and other lesser known metal bands having albums available for as low as 49 Rs.
