Hi, my moms birthday is coming up and I want to buy her a decent music system.

She is completely clueless about technology so all she ever uses is FM. So I am looking for an FM system for her.

The order of priority of requirements are -

1. FM Radio (Compulsory ! :ashamed: )
2. Remote (Again compulsory !)
3. Good looks
4. Sound quality (I know this should be first, but FM radio is anyways not the best source for decent audio)

If the system is just an FM radio with a built in amp it is fine since I got a pair of speakers that are lying around that I can use.

Budget - 5k (can be increased if I can get something really nice)

Thanks in advance ! :hap2:

well with that budget u can go for a sony CMT-EH10 (10W RMS) costs 3990,or the CMT-NEZ33 (40W rms) costs 6990.i am not sure whether they come with a remote ,mostly they will have one.
if u want a compact one go for the sony CFD-S35CP costs 5990,or CFD-RS60CP which can play from a USB drive as well.
anyway with the 5K budget u can go with sony which is better then the philips models.

Thanks guys,

@adder - The Sony system sounds good, maybe ill check those out.

EDIT : Yes I checked compareindia and they do have a remote.

@mahu - Hmm interesting concept, I will check up on that, it seems the FM reception is very good on that.

and speaking of sherwood how are they, compared to say cambridge audio.i did see the sherwood in cinebals but not in action.

my mom wanted one of those too. I bought her a phone with FM instead. she's happy, cos she can now carry it around :D

Cambridge Audio is significantly better.

11k !!! Waay too much for me ! And kmd route will be expensive since the system will be heavy (9 pounds).

I guess I will buy her one of these micro hi-fi systems like the Sony adder suggested.
