At the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia introduced only three handsetsand almost failed to attract attention of the masses. The interest to the new devices was not very high, but anyway the Nokia booth was crowded, because of the high-end handsets from the N and E series which were demonstrated at the booth along with Nokia 3250.

The Models which were launched are:

Nokia 6136

The 6136 model is a UMA-enabled phone. UMA technology is Unlicensed Mobile Access. This means that such devices will be able to operate both on GSM and WLAN networks. Another innovative technology is included in Nokia 6136, DARP (Downlink Advanced Receiver Performance) which improves the capacity of radio frequency use. The bandwidth rate increases by more than 40 %. For now, the DARP technology is not very common but if proved successful it will become widely spread in other devices. With its S40 interface, microSD, 1.3 megapixel camera and FM radio Nokia 6136 seems to be more than just a middle-end clamshell.
Nokia 6136 is expected to be available in Q2 2006.
Nokia 6131

The other new clamshell of Nokia, the 6131 is also very nice with its True Color 16 million colors internal display with QVGA resolution. The 6131 model looks more expensive than the 6136 because of the impressive display. The interior TFT screen has QVGA resolution. The exterior TFT display offers only 128 Ñ… 160 pixels resolution and is capable of reflecting up to 262k colors. The new device supports many audio formats and with its hot swap microSD slot it can be used as a music player. It supports MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, H.263, H.264 codecs. It also has FM radio, IrDA, Bluetooth and is a very interesting phone. It can be considered a competitor of the Samsung phones in the same class.
Nokia 6131 will be available in Q2 2006.

Nokia 6070

Nokia 6070 model is a successor of Nokia 6030. This device is generally aimed at the price sensitive Nokia fans and does not shine with high functionality. It has a bigger screen with 128x160 pixels resolution. It has EDGE, VGA camera, IrDA port, FM radio and the S40 user interface.
This tri-band Nokia 6070 will be available in Q2 2006.

N92 : Its a really bulky & chunky handset .
It weighs arnd 191gm but size-wise at 107 x 58 x 25 mm it wont tear ur pockets
With an integrated DVB-H receiver (a mobile TV broadcast technology), 802.11g Wi-fi, a 2.8 inch 240 x 320 pixel 16 million colour screen, FM Visual Radio, 2 megapixel camera and 3G connectivity, the N92 is a true top range multimedia smartphone.
The N92 will shop with 90 MB of internal memory, fortunately the memory can be expanded via the miniSD slot
N92 supports UPnP like N80, which allows you to play music on your phone over your home UPnP-enabled HiFi system.

But I dont think N92 would be of a great use in India,as DVB-H(a mobile TV broadcast technology) is not available here rather N80 would be a good option

n80 has been tested by mobile-review.com and is very buggy atm and the 3mp cam reall sux comparing 2 even sony 2mp cams,so it will be a while till they make it good :D

I did..... but me not a fan of BB at all :p Hardly recognised those names. I only know of 3 or 4 players from looong back.

And that tall Chinese fellow who is now playing in US. Ming or something.

The problem with Nokia is that all their top-end phones are really bulky, and hence SE has the lead, and SE is improvimg core technology too. Their OS is quite stable these days from what I hear.

I have a 6630 and it felt like a heavy piece of junk form day 2. ;-)
