I found this on facebook and I thought it would be nice to share it here ...
i just dont want anyone to miss this
Hashim Amla:
"Nothing bad can happen to us if we're on a plane in India with Sachin
Tendulkar on it."
Hashim Amla, the South African batsman, reassures himself as he boards a
flight

Yaseer Hameed:
"Sometimes you get so engrossed in watching batsmen like Rahul Dravid and
Sachin Tendulkar that you lose focus on your job."

"To Sachin, the man we all want to be"
- What Andrew Symonds wrote on an aussie t-shirt he autographed specially
for Sachin

BBC on Sachin:
Beneath the helmet, under that unruly curly hair, inside the cranium, there
is something we don't know, something beyond scientific measure. Something
that allows him to soar, to roam a territory of sport that, forget us, even
those who are gifted enough to play alongside him cannot even fathom. When
he goes out to bat, people switch on their TV sets and switch off their
lives "

"But the finest compliment must be that bookmakers would not fix the odds -
or a game - until Tendulkar was out."

"Tuzhe pata hai tune kiska catch chhoda hai?" Wasim Akram to Abdul Razzaq
when the latter dropped Sachin's catch.

Brian Charles Lara:
"Sachin is a genius. I'm a mere mortal."

Mark Taylor:
"We did not lose to a team called India...we lost to a man called Sachin" -
Mark Taylor, during the test match in Chennai (1997)

M. L. Jaisimha:
"The more I see of him the more confused I'm getting to which is his best
knock."

Glenn McGrath:
"The joy he brings to the millions of his countrymen, the grace with which
he handles all the adulation and the expectations and his innate humility -
all make for a one-in-a-billion individual,"

Anjali
"I can be hundred per cent sure that Sachin will not play for a minute
longer when he is not enjoying himself. He is still so eager to go out
there and play. He will play as long as he feels he can play,"

Matt HAYDEN:
"I HAVE SEEN GOD, HE BATS AT NO.4 FOR INDIA"

"Even my father's name is Sachin Tendulkar."
-- Tendulkar's daughter, Sara, tells her class her father's name after the
teacher informs them of a restaurant of the same name in Mumbai

KUMBLE:
"I am fortunate that I've to bowl at him only in the nets!"

Shahrukh (quoting Shahrukh from an interview)
"Que: Who do you think as most important celebrity ?
Shahrukh: There was a big party where stars from bollywood and cricket were
invited. Suddenly, there was a big noise, all wanted to see approaching Amitabh Bachhan.
Then Sachin entered the hall and Amitabh was leading the queue to get a grab of the GENIUS!!"

Navjot Singh Sidhu:
"India me aap PrimeMinister ko ek Baar Katghare me khada kar sakte hain..Par
Sachin Tendulkar par Ungli nahi utha Sakte.."

Waqar Younis
"He can play that leg glance with a walking stick also."

A banner once said-' I WILL SEE GOD WHEN I DIE BUT TILL THEN I WILL SEE
SACHIN ' that quiet defines Sachin-The greatest.

Allan Donald:
"Sachin Tendulkar has often reminded me of a veteran army colonel who has
many medals on his chest to show how he has conquered bowlers all over the
world"

And i remember reading in one of Allan Donald's interview.
This interview was in Cricket Talk 7-8 yrs ago.

"I was bowling to Sachin and he hit me for two fours in a row. One from
point and the other in between point and gully. That was the last two balls of the over and the
over after that we (SA) took a wicket and during the group meeting i told Jonty (Rhodes) to
be alert and i know a way to pin Sachin. And i delivered the first ball of my next over
and it was a fuller length delevery outside offstump. And i shouted catch. To my
astonishment the ball was hit to the cover boundary. Such was the brilliance of Sachin.
His reflex time is the best I have ever seen. Its like 1/20th of a sec.
To get his wicket better not prepare. Atleast u wont regret if he hits you for boundaries."

Peter Rebouck, Aussie journalist
"On a train from Shimla to Delhi, there was a halt in one of the stations.
The train stopped by for few minutes as usual. Sachin was nearing century, batting on 98. The passengers, railway officials, everyone on the train waited for Sachin to complete the century.
This Genius can stop time in India!!"

NKP Salve, former Union Minister (This was when he was accused of ball tempering)
"Sachin cannot cheat. He is to cricket what (Mahatma) Gandhiji was to
politics. It's clear discrimination. "

Andy Flower
:
"There are 2 kind of batsmen in the world. One Sachin Tendulkar. Two all the
others."

How many world cups has he won? :O.

How many cars has he imported tax free? :O

If only his airtime in ads equalled his air time on the crease.

Overhyped P.O.S. God my ar$e.

he has always been inspirational to those who have followed him... i think one of the few people who have moved 3-4 generations in a row ..and that too with live performance.. my grand parents still dont miss whenever sachin my dad is like a sachin devotee but he does criticize whenever he loses control under pressure of '99'

and i surely love to see his technicality in every shot...he is a clinical batsman. People worship him because he conveys his message by his actions where they matter the most, never seen him getting into quarrels ...even when after that kambli incident... he is a true sportsman who has moved many people..including the one's in the opposite team !!

(the speech can be endless :P :) )

you have got to be kidding...

highest score, highest number of centuries and what not ...one of the consistent and you still crib about world cup and ads? (indeed if you really care to count... i wont be amazed to see more air time onn crease than in ads in his case)

mate... it takes 10 more players to win a world cup... Peace !!

winning a world cup is a diff thing all together

people win and lose its part of the game

and as far his car imports goes , he came in the cricketing world as a simple person , never ran after money , its after his sucess that people and money are running after him

if he gets money from ad agencies then ad people make 100 times after signing him

he never goes to people asking for ads

people come running after him

all because of the jadoo of his balla

ads are because of him

he is not because of the ads

is sachin is beneffited from the ads , so r the ad companies ok

^^lol, i know he might be overhyped sometimes, but he is no POS, mate. sorry, he is too good a player and a human being to be called that.

He hasnt won any world cups. he cant. coz its not 'he' who has to win it, its not tennis mate. its a team game.

he did lose it when he wanted to import a car tax free, but it was a gift from fiat, not some car he bought and wanted to smuggle in.

And i dont care abt his ads, evry1 does that.

now if i had to call some1 POS, it will be all the t20 *stars* who have no class and composure.

I admire Sachin. Sometimes I wonder how much more he could have achieved if he was stronger(mentally).

He has the tendency to succumb to pressure. I know most sportsmen do, but Sachin is such a person that normal rules dont apply to him. You expect him not to succumb to pressure, but he does.

Even people like DC know that Sachin is so great that you expect him to win matches singlehandedly inspit of usually batting at No2 or No.3.

One man cant to anything. Why should he be blamed for failures?
How can a team succeed in anything when half the players, half the time keep partying and shooting ads.

And for gods sake he just whacks ball with a stick. No need to fall at his feet for that. He is inspiring yes but not a diety.

too much of politics and greediness in Indian Cricket. I quit watching cricket when teams were bought and sold. :@

Its no longer a sport its entertainment. And Indians in general suck big time at sports.

How many cars has he imported tax free?

That's what happens when you're the greatest cricketer next to Don Bradman and just happen to be the nicest person in nature as well. People like Michael Schumacher want to gift you their cars and the Indian Government don't want to charge you for it because it just won't feel right..and in any case, Sachin already helped them make profit with his performances. Cricket is the cash-cow in India.

Talking about Don Bradman, the article is missing a quote from him where he said to his wife that Sachin reminded him of himself when he was young.

And for gods sake he just whacks ball with a stick. No need to fall at his feet for that. He is inspiring yes but not a diety.

Well if cricket in India is a religion, its only reasonable to say Sachin is a God :P

err for once DC you are completely wrong, go read the original post again.

I dont think too many people can go wrong about a Man.

and yea its not about the team or the winning or wotever, the skills are the finest in the game, i wouldnt care less its a team game after all.

Thats cos he plays for the team unlike Tendulkar :D

wat a lame statement!
he has given 20 years of his life to Indian cricket
u r jealous because he has earned a lot and u can never earn as much like him even in 7 lives!
u only think that how come in this world, that man has a fleet of imported cars and u dont have even one- hain!!
is it so!

Cant believe you guys are taking DC seriously. The only thing thats not POS for him is err... Chel-shit ? :D

Its very hard to be as humble as him when he has achieved so much. Look at yuvraj, or for that matter virat kohli and dinesh karthik. They always show some kind of attitude even though they are lesser stars than sachin.

Yes, but they all put up humble faces while talking to sachin. Even Yuvraj takes 3 extra steps and keeps an innocent face when there is a pitch meeting between the 2 batsmen. No Indian player glares at him on the field. He commands the team's respect. Well earned. Hope the world cup jinx breaks in 2011.

Sachin is SACHIN. He is beyond any of the records or stats !!!

I want to say a lot more ....but dnt have enough words for a guy like him.

@^^

even if it doesn't, Sachin will still remain the best batman ever in the history of cricket. His records are testimony to his commitment to the game.

Why do people always try to discredit someone's achievements? Why do they try to pull down someone who has given his youth, his life, and has toiled and shed precious sweat and blood for his country? Instead those people should ask of themselves, "What have I done for my country?"

As for him winning the World Cup and other tourneys, he isn't a one man team. After all cricket is played by 11 people and not one.

I pray that he keeps playing this well, cracks a few more hundreds, and retires whenever he feels like it, and not when the public feels like it. In fact the people of India have been telling him to quit for almost 5 years now, maybe more, but that should not bother him.
