Folks, I'm thinking of buying a petrol Ford Figo Titanium from Cauvery Ford, Mangalore for my brother shortly. After much negotiation, I was quoted a final road price of Rs 5,50,123/- with standard fitment(mud flaps, floor mats, boot mat), 3rd year warranty and insurance free.

However, at the beginning of this month the sales rep from Cauvery Ford called me and informed me that Ford is raising the price of their Titanium variant by about 16K. For the additional 16K, Ford is offering

- 4 Alloy Wheels

- Music System USB connectivity via USB cord

- Tilt steering

I am also rather surprised at this news that Ford has raised the price of their car especially in the year-ending quarter and that too, on their slow moving petrol variant. Can anyone else confirm if such a price hike has actually taken place?
This takes the on road price of the Figo Titanium to Rs 5,66,123/-. Is this a good quote? Has anyone received a better quote from Cauvery Ford, Mangalore?

Also, how is Cauvery Ford in terms of after sales service? Can anyone share your experience with this dealer?

I am considering a Chevrolet Spark as an alternative to the Figo(we have not finalized on the segment of car required) from Frontline Automobiles, Mangalore. However, the sales people at Frontline do not seem to be interested in selling their car and do not even keep in touch which is what has made me re-consider Ford.

You from mangalore, i am from mangalore too. :)

Have you driven the Petrol Figo. I took a test drive and it felt under powered to me. Plus, some people on t-bhp were complaining about its low fuel efficiency.

Are Chevrolet and Ford your only options? If you are considering Chevrolet, why not the Beat? Among other cars, the i10 1.2, Honda Brio are excellent alternatives.

Its a lie. The centre console contains a 2TB HDD, hence the increase in price ....

@abifusion - Thanks for the link.

@manu1991 - Yes, folks at gearheads.in also suggested that I look at the Beat but mileage apart, I require a vehicle that can comfortably seat 3 in the back for a reasonably long trip of 2.5 - 3 hours and a recent comparison of hatchbacks' rear bench room width and comfort has led be to believe that the Figo is the best among the lot.

W.r.t. the Figo being underpowered, it's not a major concern since my brother is just starting to drive (It kind of reassures me also as every 1st time driver will drive a little irresponsibly until the excitement goes and they settle down). I also plan to change this car after 3 years or so and maybe invest in a japanese or european car to keep for a longer time so I don't want to spend a lot right now. Hence, I am not very inclined towards diesel variants or costlier cars and more inclined towards VFM cars like the Spark, Beat, Figo.

I compared the Figo against the Ritz(pros - maruti cons - poor interior quality and surprisingly poor interior space and rear bench), Polo(pros - solid build cons - too expensive for such few features provided and 1L more expensive than the Figo. Don't want to invest so much in a 1st car.), Liva(pros - toyota cons - interiors are just too plain, petrol variant is simply not worth it.)

The Ford Figo price starts from Rs. 3, 76,119 for the base level car and goes up to Rs. 5, 66,524 for the high end Ford Figo 1.4 Duratorq Titanium engine. All the models are 1399 cc.

Figo[Titanium Petrol] 4,42,900

Figo[Titanium Diesel] 5,29,900

Yes they have increased the prices. I enquired here in pune yesterday and got a quote for 5.66.799 for the petrol and 6.77.672 for the diesel titanium.

I really like the equipment on the car but dont understand why they havent provided power windows for the rear even in the titanium models.
