hello guys, i have an internal PATA HDD which im using as a portable HDD.
i have three partitions in it...for the last few days my VISTA is asking me to format 2 of the partitions and i cannot access these partitions,is there any work around this?

I think you should format those partition and try for data recovery. Wait for other member's suggestion.

HDD could be dying. First recover data using recovery tools, then try formatting HDD to see if it works.

try using the command prompt to access the partitions. could be a virus blocking access and giving up the prompt.

Also try data recovery tools like stellar & r studio ntfs and try to recover the data

There is a possibility that as it was used as a portable drive, it may not have been ejected properly, and the partition table got corrupted in such an instance.

hmm..yes i do always eject it properly but at times i have jst removed it..damn it!

btw the third partition is accessible but prompts me to "scan and fix"
