Format help

Ok guys i got a problem my other comp has a windows xp home edition and when i formated it wit ha xp pro the other copy of windows stayed. How can I removed the other copy just so I have the ne formated one

how do u mean , please describe . do you see the option wile booting up or do u also see the actual files in explorer ( which is unlikely if you have formatted the drive again )

if its only the options you talk about use

 fdisk /mbr

after you boot to a DOS floppy or CD with FDISK on it .

imo this only happens if you isntall windows on a diff partition and u end up with a dual boot situation.. maybe you can erase the partition where xp home is and edit the boot.ini file to remove the os choices menu

yeahh I deleted the partition now I can't start the other OS but its still on the startup..... another problem is do u guys know what could be wrong if I can't connect to the Internet and all IP are Unavailble

try this , right click my computer click properties and go here



choose the installation that works from the meny and then uncheck time to display list of os
