Security Software Free Anti virus

+1 for Avira.. Using it since 5-6 months.. It always detected viruses, trojens etc from external storage devices..
 
I used both Avira and Avast........None could protect me from attack of viruses.....!! :tongue:

After that I start using KIS(pirated :bleh:) and gor fed-up with the blacklisting of keys after every update. :mad:

Then I moved to AVG and started using Comodo Firewall and it has been more than 2.5yrs and never got affected by virus. :hap2:

I also scan my PC weekly with Malwarebytes. :D

Thats the reason i bought a legit copy of KIS09, then when it did not support my current os[Win7] got a copy of KIS10 used the same license key to activate it,
the con is that it seriously lowers system performance so i uninstalled it[still have 3-4 months license unused] and installed AVG, works superb.

Using it now. Had to format and reinstall the OS and the two month old KIS refused to activate saying the number of activations is over. Even MS doesn't object to my repeated validations of my 4+ years old XP Home OEM!
 
Use Avira or Avast if you want it free. Or pay and buy a copy of Eset smart security or Norton internet security. KIS is good but resource hungry - and slows down the PC considerably.
