hey Guyz i need help here from some Networking Gurus... Following is my Scenario.

i have Belkin N150 Wireless Modem Router bought from Amarbir..

this one - Belkin : N150 ADSL2+ Wireless Modem Routerem Router

when i received the package i found out that Belkin does not include ADSL Splitter with their Package.so, i let it go but from day one it has a problem i.e. when someone picks or hangs the phone the modem disconnects from the internet..

at that time i thought that this might be caused due to the absence of Splitter but i suppose i was wrong coz today even after attaching the splitter there's no change..

i've even upgraded the firmware from 1.00.03 to 1.00.05 pre-release one.. http://en-au-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2643

Please Help me out Guyz...

Regards

Naveen

If the net is getting disconnected with the phone, its the problem with the splitter cause its the line that is getting cut with the phone. Get it checked again.

i got my splitter replaced..
but still the problem persists..

Call the ISP and ask them to send engi and have them check this. Does this disconnection stop when you plug the ethernet cable directly in the lan port of your computer?

will call the engineer but as today is sunday so,it's not possible.. will ask him to come over & check it..

No this is not the case..

computer is always connected to router via ethernet cable..

the thing is the main line is splitted into two parts via the splitter..

one goes to phone & other one to router directly as it's a modem router & not a SIMPLE ROUTER..

so,when someone picks the receiver of the landline connected to it then the internet connection on the router disconnects..

i.e. the ADSL light turns off for 2 secs & then starts & blinks all the way & then it connects to the internet like if the modem is turned off..

Hmmm. Seems that this problem can be rectified only when the engineer sees the splitter as well as the connection. Good Luck with that.

Will give it a shot tomorrow but i'm pretty much sure they won't be able to help me out as then don't know that much about the comps..
last time a guy came to check the line he said that as i'm using an aftermarket modem & not BSNL's modem it is creating problem & not the line .
but it was the line as i got it checked with another electrician..
could you imagine that?

lol i sure can imagine that if its bsnl. I was expecting airtel there

see that is the main problem :(
i opted for this coz i'm paying only 1000/- PM for 512kbps UL conn. while in airtel i've to pay around 1500/-

You can get 1mbps with 1500 with reliance.

there's a small problem..
the city where i live in have only 2 ADSL ISP's BSNL or AIRTEL..:ashamed:
rest all are there but they don't offer Landline connections  but instead wireless connections..

Get the reliance Wimax. It should ideally come for the same cost.
