Hello Avinash, were the numbers of any help?

As I am not in Banglaore, I will give a rough configuration --

Intel Core i5 2500k ~12500/- [there is not a great performance chasm between the Ivy-Bridge and Sandy-Bridge counterparts -- http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/551?vs=288, gaming scores are par]

ASUS P8Z77-M PRO ~12500/- [the Intel Z77 chipset brings in a few advantages like native support for USB 3.0 and SATA III]

G.Skill RIPJAWS 4GB x2 ~3400/-

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB ~5000/-

LG / Samsung OEM DVD drive ~1000/-

AMD HD 7870 ~22500/- OR AMD HD 7950 ~27000/- [honestly I am not a proponent for dual-GPU configurations, I will list the reasons a little later]

Corsair TX V2 650W ~5600/- OR Corsair TX V2 750W ~6800/-

Corsair Carbide 400R ~5400/- OR NZXT Tempest EVO ~5500/-

TVS Gold mechanical keyboard ~1400/- OR Microsoft Sidewinder X4 ~2000/-

Corsair Vengeance M60 ~3000/-

Extra purchases pertaining to over-clocking of the CPU --

Noctua NH-U12P SE2 ~3900/- OR SVG Tech HOC40 ~6500/-

A few reasons, why I do not advocate a dual-GPU set-up --
  • Heat and power draw, expensive and power-guzzlers.
  • Once they are outdated, they are dinosaurs.
  • Fickle driver sets do not help either. Scaling is another issue.
  • Over-clocking these set-ups is tantamount to inviting a furnace in your cabinet

Hope this helps, Cheers!!

Any more queries please tag and ask.

Thanks peeps.

#[member='ALPHA17']- The numbers were of great use. Thanks a ton. Will be going to SP Road over this weekend.

Please note that Sunday is the weekly off, so if any shops will be open they will close down by ~1200 Hours.

Also forget anybody to pull out anything from their 'locked' godowns / warehouse.
