Frustrated with Windows 7 recurring updates.

My Lappy has been running find since last 2 years with the same installation of Windows but suddenly there is this Automatic update(s) of .net components which keeps happening every shutdown and takes about 10 mins but nothing gets updated and the status is the same on the next reboot. Tried unchecking the updates from the Windows update application but nothing happens as it is again checked on the next update.

What to do... Help please.

hi, switch did you try right clicking on those updates and selecting "Hide update" ?

If you don't need .NET framework you should uninstall it from your Lappy.

disable the .net frameworks process from the management concole

Well hiding the updates worked in the first go itself. Thanks for the help guys...
