BRIEF
I don't need to tell anybody here about the Wizard (aka. Imate K-Jam, O2 XDA Mini S, Cingular 8125). This is truly the best phone I have ever used. For those of you who don't know about it, it's one of the most famous Windows Mobile 5 PDA Phones out there complete with Touchscreen, Wi-Fi B and G, BT, a full Slide out QWERTY keyboard and an O/C able TI OMAP Processor.
This baby runs pretty much everything from your standard MS Office Mobile Apps to VOIP products like Skype and a plethora of Instant Messengers.
It supports POP3 and IMAP email along with push mail capabilities and can serve as a fully capable email client rivalling your desktop Outlook. It's a pleasure typing out email and sms's with it's QWERTY keyboard. It also supports Remote Desktop applications so you can connect to your computer over the Wi-Fi or GPRS connections and control your computer which obviously includes downloading files as well. Thes best part about this little device is that there are literally tens of thousands of applications available for it. If there is a certain feature you think is missing... simple... all you have to do is go online (specifically XDA Developers.com), look for it and presto... the feature has been added.
There are so many fantastic applications available for the Windows Mobile platform ranging from business apps to games like Age of Empires to personal apps like MS Voice Command which takes voice recognition and interaction to a whole new level. With MS VC you can completely operate almost every aspect of the phone with voice commands, from dialling a phone number to calling out a contact, to specifying whether to call the contact's home, mobile, work or any other numbers; to playing music by artist, album or name... it very easily can be my most favorite app. You have to use this to believe it.
Another interesting thing most of you would like to know, is that the Graphical Interface is completely customizable. All you need to do is install WisBar Advance 2 and you have the most dashing looking Today Screen which has skins and icon sets that give you the Vista Visual Experience. Infact, there are apps out there that make this phone operate and look exactly like the Apple iPhone.
This little device sure has made travelling easy for me. I hardly ever take my laptop anywhere while I'm travelling as this almost completely takes care of all my business applications. It also doubles as a portable entertainment unit as with TCPMP player (it's like the VLC for Windows Mobile) it plays every format you can throw at it. Best part is I don't even bother transcoding my DivX movies. Most of them which are at above 500 x 400 resolution play perfectly well without skipping or anything. Ofcourse there are certain files which are around 720 x 500 resolution with heavy compression that don't work too well but I guess that's expecting a lil too much.
An added advantage is that you can also upgrade this to the latest Windows Mobile 6. (I would suggest Faria's ROMs as they are really stable and work extremely well with a large amount of free memory left)
This is turning out to be a review more than a sale. :bleh: Problem is there is just so much you can do with this device that I would end up writing out an essay of 10 pages. :hap5: If you guys have any questions just post them here or PM me about it and i'll be glad to help out.
