FTTH is coming to Delhi

I wish they will bring those bandwidths with good prices and deadline is before cwg for rollout

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has planned to invest Rs 250 crore for Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) roll out in Delhi.

“We have allocated Rs 250 crore for phase –I of this project in Delhi. It will be rolled out in six locations across Delhi,†said Kuldeep Singh, CMD, MTNL in a brief interaction with CIOL on the sidelines of 18th Convergence India being held in the national capital.

MTNL has set the target to complete this roll out before the Commonwealth Games, to begin in October this year. The company is in the process of finalizing equipment for this project which is scheduled to be done by end of June 2010.

“We are evaluating the equipment that will be required for the project. We expect that it would be done by the end of this June,†said Singh.

so what does this mean exactly?

speed of Internet upto 100 Mbps via Optical Fiber cable.

I think this project will not be like others and it is a city rollout not particular areas of a city like building or society. First they will make them available in 6 parts of Delhi and then in throughout Delhi.

Seeing mtnl strategies lately, i am sure it will worth the wait :D

Since it is MTNL, i hope they do something for Mumbai also :D
