upto 2 Mbps - 3999
upto 8 Mbps - 11999
upto 10 Mbps - 13999
upto 20 Mbps - 25999
upto 50 Mbps - 45999

B:Fibre Broadband Limited Plans: (Download/Upload limit )

upto 4 Mbps (30GB) - 2999
upto 16 Mbps (100GB) - 6999

 at the limits.

Yup, I have seen the demo. the fibre is near my house, so I did think of getting a connection but the per month charges are lot more than I want to spend on internet. plus speed are same, so it does not make sense.

so dropped the idea. AFAIK, due to high cost. the response is bad for residential areas but its a big hit for commercial buildings, hotels, educational institutes who need lot of bandwidth, as they have large numbers of users.

btw, here is the tripleplay plan(Phone+TV+Internet) which they offered

One thing I wanted to know here is what upload speeds these guys are giving in these plans. If the upload and download speeds are same then the 1&2 Mbps plans look good if they were 1000 bucks less. Anyway in coming years the pricing is sure to drop with newer tech coming out.

On Uploaded, I don't know. Btw, On Fiber getting 1 or 2mbps plan does not make sense. Fibre Optic is made for high speed connections.

I am not saying that you can't use them, but their best utilization is for high speeds connectiosn. for speeds you have mentioned, DSL would work just fine

^ true, but full 100% uploads on dsl make downloads suffer. that wont be the case with fiber which has 1 or 100 Mbps bandwidth.

Higher uploads can't command that steep price. to this be popular, price reduction is need of hour

Anything below 8Mbps on fibre doesn't make sense, sure hope that the prices come down in the near future.

Sure. It does make sense to Get fiber. and moreover BSNL also allows all broadband plan 500+ on FTTH connection. I have applied for 750 + 10% additional cost to get the BB Plan on FTTH = 825

I have applied for 750 one. I know i will get only 512 download. but on IBF forum few users have confirmed 3-4 Mbps upload speed. also BSNL's FTTH network is separate from BSNL Broadband and gateways. which translate better pings and surfing. I have seen the demo and can confirm that even on 512 Kbps. FTTH makes hell lot of difference in browsing.

I will update this thread once i get my connection. maybe in a week or so.

#[member='swatkats'] 750+10% extra = 825 Including taxes.

#Gaurish Yes.Lets see how it goes. Main CO is on leave. so i get to know about my connection on monday.

Ftth with triple play services would be good. I dont want to pay extra just for broadband via FTTH.. FTTB Would be suffice for that. I remember most of the Isp's are providing internet via fttb. You don't have one in your city like ACT BB?

What are the advantages other than improved upload speeds?

Because pings don't seem to improve much(as based on a review at other forum).

Advantage of fiber: better upload speeds, Good pings (depends on the routing from my isp), triple play services. Speeds up to 1gbit/s.

Speeds up to 1gbit/s.

Yes, but I was talking about BSNL, which is not even offering reasonable 8Mbps plans on FTTH(hell, even on DSL!).

Other than good upload speeds, and very little improvement in ping, I don't see any improvements...

I think BSNL should start FTTB like Beam and all, which will cheaper for both customers and themselves!!

Well, can you give me some of info on triple play services?
