FTTH router

I have recently taken a FTTH connection from Airtel in Bangalore. The speed is good but the router they have installed is pathetic. On wireless I am getting not more than 25% of the speed.
I am planning to buy a new router. Any suggestions?

Is it a router or a ONU(Optical network unit)? they locally call it as "fiber modem". Here, Asianet charged Rs3700 for "net link" make ONU. ONU's may be available for cheaper prices in big cities(<3000). My set up includes ONU RJ-45 lan cable connected to a Belkin N150 router which does the job fairly well. Even if, ONU has wireless functionality, My suggestion will be to buy a el cheapo wi-fi router from dlink(costs Rs900 or so), connect it to ONU and rest will be fine.

As you're saying you are Getting only 25% of the promised Speed. How did you measure the speed, Which App?
