lord they hv done it.
petrol has increased 4 bucks n diesel 2 /-

i don think i can afford that car now , planning to shift on bikes,

i knew it was coming but 4 /-. i m dead.
wha about u guys???

well my bike gives about 40-45k a litre. and i dont roam about if ive nothing else to do ;) so i guess i wont be affected much

but i still remember the good old days (about 3-4 years back) when it was only 35 bux a litre... 15 rs in 3 years is too much of an increase. guess the common man will be the worst affected as usual :(

Well, the govt sucks as usual.

If only those morons reduce the taxes, the price would come down to 35/- or so at this time. And in normal times, it woud be in the 20s.....

Sad..... check the rates of fuel in other countries..... Thailand, Pak, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc....

I wont agree with u guys pertol prices is increasing as a whole.

Except for malaysia n usa petrol prices are increasing all over the world.

well malaysia has many oil hotspots so its low there and USA we all know its a superpower and how much it can infulence others

Bull! Fuel price hikes affect (nearly ) everyone....

It's perspective/priority... some people whine about 4 bucks rise in petrol prices but they smoke cigarettes that cost the same price... how about smoking 1 less cigarette a day??

No way man; do you burn only a litre of fuel a day?

sample costs for an An average Joe like I:

At say 20,000 kms a year, and @ say 10kmpl, a fuel cost increase of 4Rs (~8.33% ) sets me back by ~22/- a day, i.e. a monthly setback of 660/-

And these numbers may not look too bad in isolation, but considering the amount of money that gets spent on petrol, even the teeniest-weenies increase hurts :(

(BTW 22/- = 6 ciggies a day :( )

i think its the people who own cages would be badly hurt... no wonder a few of my friends want back thier maruti 800 since it gave the best mileage!!!

my bike gives me good mileage. approx 50km/ltr... so was paying a Re. a KM....it was still cheaper for me then travelling by public transport... since i have to travel small distances for which i have to change transportation!

how much taxes do oil cos have to pay? and how much is petrol really subsidised???

i think its time the gov starts charting out a concrete plan along with private players on bringing out higher fuel efficient models or better still... bring out vehicles that run on other sources such as cng/solar/hydrogen fuel cell etc etc... but well it takes decades to clean up a footpath.. it would take a millenia to even chart out such a policy! :(

Dude, I understand where you're coming from, but my point is if he can afford a car he can afford the gas prices :) And you quitting that bad 22-rupees habit now? :D

oh damn, i thought filling up petrol tank today. 14*4=56. I hve to pay Rs.56 more. And my avenger is giving me only 33kmpl:(.

As usual Mumbai got the worst rates. :(

Well expense is expense. Its stupid to say if person can afford the car he can afford the petrol.

Ofcourse he can. But that does not change the fact thats its more money. Money is money. And more is more.

And this will affect everyone inclusing those who dont have cars. CNG prices also increased so public transport will now demand increase in fares. So possibly prices of taxi and auto may go up. Also the prices of everything will get affected as everything needs to be transported somewhere.

For me its many times 50-60KM a day travel by car. And this directly impacts me. And mind you i dont drink and i dont smoke ;)

Now stupidity is that there is no uniform pricing structure. Something as vital as oil should have uniform pricing all over india.

Here we pay central tax + additional state tax + BMC tax. And what we have here? the most expensive place to buy petrol :@

BTW at the moment there is direct 7.5% duty on oil import + tax on oil.

OK its settled. I'll be geting the Platina after monsoons are over. If they claim 108, at least I should get 80. What say?

Jahlak Dikhlajaa.........:D
