At that price, you can't go wrong with this cam. :)

The only issue I found with Fuji cams is that sometimes the menu can get really deep, but other than that it's the most VFM product can you get and seriously that price is really tempting.

Have 2 Fuji cams so I can give some comment going through the specs.

- The lumix has wider wide angle 25mm vs 28mm in fuji

- The HD movie recording is done in mono, so much for the HD mode :P, the seems to be better here with AVClite and stereo

- Fuji doesnt have good batt life but since this uses AA battery you should be able to get 220-250 shots with Eneloop batt, panny uses Li-ion internal batt, should work around 150 shots or less. If you use zoom more I would think the batt life would be worse on the panny. Fuji will be winner here in batt life :P

- Image quality will be great in the daylight but poor in low light as the CCD sensor is same as most of the P&S cams. Cannot comment on panny as I have no personal exp.

- The flash is good/strong so you be able to shoot good pics of subjects with flash compared to the tiny flash found in panny.

- Weight/Size would be a consideration as Fuji is heavier and bigger and Panny is half weight and more compact.

So you need to decide in which are you willing to make a compromise :P

EDIT: I doubt panny would give even 120 shots if flash was used 40% of the time. The battery is crappy 895mah :/

why not go for the FZ 35. Its totally worth it.

It has Li-ion and it says 420 shots, and it does really last around that. I have tried around 100 shots or more with flash, but the battery indicator was still at 100% :)

And it has really good low light capability. It has bit bigger CCD sensor, close to entry level DSLR[1.9 sqcm]. It has more than 1sqcm.

if you want real live comparison, search in youtube. You can d/l videos/pics shot on the cam u are looking for.

Actually, I can't. This is a brand new model.

AFAIK Fujifilm is the only cam that has 3 years ASS with PARTS AND LABOUR included NOT the one like Sony and more... one year limited warrantee etc.

Ordered the TZ7 instead because of portability. To sacrifice portability I'd need something more robust than the s2500hd.
