Graphic Cards Furmark stress test results RTX 3060 Ti

MarioBros

Forerunner
Hey Folks - Today I got an used RTX 3060 Ti gpu which is still in warranty for another 6 months or so.

I did a Furmark stress test and the results are as below

1080p testing for 10 mins
GPU Max Temp - 83 degree
GPU Max usage - 100%
GPU Hotspot Temp - 104 degree

2K UHD testing for 10 mins
GPU Max Temp - 85 degree
GPU Max usage - 100%
GPU Hotspot Temp - 105 degree

Are these normal results or should I be concerned? please suggest

- The seller has agreed for 1-2 days testing, and I can return if not satisfied.
- I also have the option of Warranty but I dont know if RMA is possible for High temps
- Brand is Zotac

CPU is i5 12400F
16GB DDR5 RAM
760M Motherboard

Is it a dual fan or triple fan card? Still nonetheless the temps feel a lil high for comfort

Why furmark, it stresses the card in absolutely worst case scenario which I don't think even any game can do? Just use 3dmark time spy test repeatedly or better, play an actual game for half an hour. With furmark test even many new condition gpu would show higher than expected temps because of not having a good quality colling solution (almost always found on higher tier costlier card models only & never on budget models).

P.S. Just as I guessed, it's a zotac.

This.

Furmark is an extreme case scenario, that no game will ever use. Use Unigine Heaven on max settings and Time Spy. You will get a more realistic picture. If the temps are still that high after running those tests, then you may need to return it/get the paste/pads changed. A 3060 Ti shouldn't cross 85C on the hotspot/memory, especially in this weather.

My 3080 doesn't cross 65c on the core, 75 on the hotspot and 90 on the memory while gaming. This is with it pulling >360W.

Not sure about this weather but in typical summer season I think I have seen comments online of zotac 3060 cards (both ti & non-ti) reaching such high temps because of supposedly just a bit below avg cooling solution (the fans they used as well as the contact the heatsink make with the actual surface).

My friend has an Inno3D 3060Ti. During summer it doesn't cross those temps, and that cooler is even worse than Zotac's. I'm basing my findings on that.

yes, even on reddit people telling Furmark is extreme case test and won't reflect actual day to day usage results.

last couple of hours I tested on two different tools
3D Mark
Unigine Heaven

both above tools consistently showed GPU temperature above 82 degrees on both 1080p and 2K tests

I am sure, thermal repasting will most probably get temps down but I dont want to take that risk since device is still under warranty.

What about hotspot/memory temps?

I will return it to the seller...

also I am getting a offer for 22k for RTX 4060 Zotac, is it worth it ?
5 yrs warranty it seems
No, absolutely not.

A brand new 4060 can be had for 26K. Gives you better peace of mind. It's also worse than a 3060Ti. RT won't matter for this class of GPU.

I've started seeing used 3080s now going for as low as 25k, with some warranty left.

Plus, if you wait and see how much the B580 launches for (25-28K), that would make much more sense over a 4060.
