I have a 4 year old Yamaha FZ16.
From the last few months I was facing frequent puncture problem in the rear tyre.
Well, it had its time - drove almost 26K kms on it.
Last week, a pointed stone made the final blow. Now its beyond repair and I need to replace it immediately.

I called up the Yamaha service center, but they said they do not change the tyres.

So, shall I approach the local garages for the change? Since its a tubeless, can the local garage guys fit it?

(can somebody from Kolkata give me some pointer?)

And regarding the tyre, is there any specific brand I shall opt for? Any indicative price would be very much helpful.

Any info/pointer would be much appreciated.

TIA.

Pirelli Sport Demon 140/70-17 is a good option. Higher profile tyre so the top speeds go up by 2-3%.

Otherwise you can always get the stock tyre.

Any info on the price? How much does the Pirelli and the stock cost?

Well, I am not much of a speeder rather a commuter. :P
So, looking for a cheaper option.

Commuter and cheaper tyre? Just buy a new stock tyre. No idea on prices.

Thanks guys for your replies.

Finally got a stock MRF revz.
The guy charged me 3.2K. I am not sure if its a fair price as I was unable to find any indicative price. :S
He asked 3.5K and negotiated a li'l.
Got fitted from the local shop - for 50 bucks and my bike is mobile after almost 2 weeks. :P
