G.skill Pi black rams 4gb cl4 @ 1.8-1.9v fr 55$

I just don't seem to understand that the RAM prices are plummeting nowadays but not of any other stuff like mobos and procies. Is it for a particular reason.

na, Asustek recently dropped P45 mobo's prices, but its opposite in India, P5Q Pro was 7.9+VAT, now 9.1k :S

hehe....hey wt are the chips on them??...i heard its qimonda

YEP... just saw these on newegg, and came back here to see someone already posted this deal....

I've heard that these, Pi series sticks OC like mad... is it true? Supra, what's your experience with these?

Also, how about these ones...

Newegg.com - G.SKILL PI Black 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 900(PC2 7200) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

I would love to see someone starting a GO on this or above mentioned deal, just in time for me to upgrade my RAM. On that note, how much do u guys think I could fetch for my 2 x 1GB Corsair XMS2 800MHz (CL5) rams sticks?

Awesome sticks.

Best part being the real low volts thats required to run these babies. Mine's currently doing 892MHz - CL4 @ 1.8V. :D

RAM prices are different from those of other electronic components. These may vary daily based on supply and demand.

+ in general, RAM prices drop more quickly than almost any other component in the hardware markets :)

This guy on XS has a pair of both 800 & 900, he's tested both separately and the 900MHz do abt 1000 @ 4-4-4 & 800 do even 950 @ 5-5-5 :/

More over, the 800MHz need much less voltage to get to a certain speed compared to 900Mhz, suggesting they ve different chips !!!

Thats why I ordered the 900MHz ;)

EDIT: But all this is just 1 users experience via PM to me. He may be wrong...we'll know soon enuff as he's gonna post a comparison thread, soon on XS.

Both are Quimonda chips but different bins/revisions :P
The DDR2 900 pair will do arnd 100 easily (4-5-4-12---TRFC---52)

The one I have does 950Mhz easy @ 4-4-4-12 (TRFC---52) @ 1.95V
Maxed out is 1040Mhz (5-5-5-15) even at 2.15V. Giving more voltages to Quimonda chips makes more sense as they like tigheter timings & lower voltages :)

For higher scalibility I prefer these OCZ reapers :). They are dirt cheap at 50$ shipped on the egg (arnd 3.2k or below may be via KMD :D)

Newegg.com - OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory
