G3 Torrent

I swore by BitComet till I came across utorrent!!! it rocks!!1

I was getting 10kBps with BC and then I switched to utorrent and within a few minutes, speed was upto 23-25kBps. Awesome!! Rocks.

And BitComet uses a lot of RAM. Another thing which made me favour utorrent......

Try utorrent. It is posted by dipdude itself on TE.

bitcomet is amazing. but if u want something that uses no system ram etc then utorrent. its just 110kb. after bitcomet got banned me using utorrent. dont know if ill switch back now.

Ditto :P The EXACT same thing happened to me. Was using BC till it got banned. Now, I dont think I will change back

utorrent is small and efficient but somehow i never managed to get the speeds of Bitcomet. I am still using Bitcomet till date.

I have used G3,Bittorrent Client,Azureus,Utorrent,BitComet,BitLord and I find Utorrent the best torrent client by far (IMHO).

G3 torrent is fine, but when the same functionality can be accomplished by a lighter, leaner client why not use it??

I was using G3 Torrent till dipdude posted about Utorrent and I have switched to Utorrent completely.

Though i've not used the current release, but from earlier experience of G3 Torrent is, it gets good speeds, but it isn't very reliable in case ur computer suddenly reboots(due to power faliure, etc) or crashes, it causes loss of data.

I just used uTorrent and have become a instant fan of it.
Looks like i will stick with utorrent for my further torrent downloads.
I download very less though coz my low speed connection.

G3 Torrent has those client spoof options, and apparently, the client can get you banned on a lot of servers. It's a nifty little client though. I have found it to be unreliable, as my system restarted for some strange reason once, and all my downloads disappeared. Nothing beats Azureus.

Azureus is a resource hog (Not for ppl with Uber Rigs) and is java based which is a major pi$$ off (atleast for me), Utorrent is so lightweight and nifty.

And u shud have a minimum number of Seeds in Azureus for it to start (2, I guess) which is not the case with Utorrent.

unfortunately azureus seems to be the only good client for linux. although there is also bittornado, azureus is certainly faster. would be nice if utorrent or bitcomet is ported to linux
