3d mark scores dont tell a thing. I feel Nvidia are pretty confident they have a superior product compared to their rivals ATI, hence such low clock speeds. It seems to be a rehash of 1 year back when Nvidia pulled a rabbit out of the hat with Nv4x and ATI had to rethink their strategies.

The story will go as thus Nvidia will release G70, ATI will introduce a bruteforce R520, which wont be available in mkts for quite some time. Till then the 'slower' G70 would have picked up sales. To negate that ATI will introduce a powerhouse midrange card. And the stories continue.

Not to forget now all the Nvidiots who will cry hoarse with 3dmark 2005.

its 1 year ago time ;)
My time machine works :P ( Friends Fans will know what i am talking :P )
Dosent similar misleading scores came out of NV40 as well just before the launch?

Thats b'coz it gives a genuinely biased picture.I have a strong suspicion that behind the scenes the Futuremark guys are in league with both ATi and Nvidia.A silent understanding of "I scratch your back and you scratch mine".LOL.
All that new versions and disabling tests with non"approved" drivers is just a chirade.

13k at Stock in SLI mode. That seems nice also this card OC's sweetly too provided you cool it well. But then again 3d mark scores dont tell a thing I want to see its performance in Everquest 2 currently that games stresses any card more so the NV4x cards.

But Macci was able to clock 15k with X850 XT crossfire, but that was cascade cooled at extreme clocks.

I again maintain 3dmark scores are Bullshit no indication whatsoever, lets see how these monsters perform in games, especially with SM 3.0 feature set enabled.

@ Bottle ---- NICE link.......

But I really think that in real world tests, nvidia are going to be better. But lt us see..... it is too early to jump to any conclusions

Those are tests with very early pre-release drivers. When Nvidia could successfully increase performance of a deficient architecture like the NV3x by 20-40%,they have much bigger headroom with the G70.
And if ATi does come out witha 32-pipe R520 anytime in the next three months which is unlikely,I think a 32-pipe G70 will arrive shortly thereafter.

I hope so cos i might get a sample in the coming months. Made some contacts in Nvidia's new bangalore R&D branch :)
The one on MG road right ? I thought they only do software development there and don't deal with hardware at all.

Nice.,..... but he seems to be pushing the system to it's limits to get that score.... while the R520 seemed to do it slightly more easily.....

But then it is a known fact that nvidias perform(comparatively) badly in synthetic benchies....
