G70, Geforce 7800 to arrive in eight days
I MADE a nasty little typo calling G70 the Geforce 7800GFX, not the GTX but it won't change the realité that much. My sincere apologies but that what happens if you write much on the plane.

We saw at more than one place that Nvidia is planning to introduce this card in eight days from press time, Sunday late night Greenwich Mean Time. You do the maths.

Advertisements are all over the web including the INQUIRER's front page where one of the ads is suggesting "to prepare yourself for the ultimate graphics experience coming in eight days". Some computer shops are also running this advert and have the 7800 category waiting for Nvidia's announcement.

Some knowledgeable people said that the memory clock speed will end up at 1200MHz and even some documents seen by the INQ stated 1400MHz memory clock. Nvidia confuzzled everyone's game.

This card will, without a doubt, be the fastest card introduced and will beat 6800 Ultra by a nice margin and in some tests and settings will end up significantly faster.

It seems that like AMD, Nvidia likes Tuesdays and all suggests that both companies are going to introduce their products on that day, AMD, its new 2800MHz clocked FX-57, and Nvidia its G70, Geforce 7800 GTX.

Still there might be one faster card from Nvidia coming in the near future as the Ultra suffix remains unused. This summer will be full of dirty little graphic games from both ATI and Nvidia. Stay tuned to watch the Schadenfreude. µ

I know someone who is going to be very happy with this news ;) :ohyeah:

Great news.Hope they have the 7600 out by Aug.
May be the GF-7 series will end up like this(iff R520 is indeed 32-pipe) by Chirstmas:
7800U:32-pipe,7800GTX:24-pipe,7600GT either 16 or 12-pipe and eventually perhaps a 7200 with 8-pipes.
End-game for ATi?LOL.

Don't think so ,the guy has a budget of $300-350 as he indicated.
On a side note,I am happy too coz probably 7600 will be launched by the time I reach US shores in Aug. :D

hahahahaha!!!!

Both these companies have been around for a looong time. They are experts at coming back from bad positions. Remember the 6 series from nvidia??? and the X800 XL from ATi(this maybe a case of too little too late)....

But then again, we will have to wait till both R520 and G70 is released to actually know......

Is any lower version of 7XXX Series expected there for 10-12K
Like we have 6200 , 6600

Any 7200 , 7600

@quad, your budget is about 12-15k right ? Even if a 7600 is launched for that price, a 6800U will be available for more or less the same price...

I wonder whether the 7600 will be able to beat the 6800U ??? Unless Quady wants the 7-series name to brag about...

@undertaker, your damn lucky mate ! By the time you hit Indiana, there will be a 7800 available for about $350-380 !

The 7800GTX will be faster than the 6800U so yeah u can expect the 7600 to b able to beat the 6800U by a slight margin or perform arnd the same (thats my assumption). Prices though wont be coming down so quickly.

Actually its the 7600 (or whatever the mid-level GF7 is called)that I'll eventually buy.Never makes sense to spend more than $200-250 on video cards. :cool2:
The 7800GTX will be over $400 till December at the very least.
After the 7800 enters the market, these are my guesstimates:
7800GTX:$500
6800U:$350-400
6800GT:$250-300
6600GT:$150
Of course eventually by holiday season, entire gf6 line will probably be replaced by GF7 variants.
(Interesting thing here in India will be how the big thieves like Rashi and BBC price their 6800GTs after the launch.Price of 20k+ on the 6800GT won't be sustainable much longer. ;) )
