Both are around 7.5k

Pros of UD3H: total 8 sata ports + 1esata : 6*sata3 and 2*sata2 + 1 esata 2.0

Which is 3 ports more than the M4A.
I already have 6 HDDS and two sata DVDRW. So with asus i ll have to go for one additional 4 port sata2 PCI card to accomodate all my HDDs which will set adide another 1.5k.
I will be using 4*2Gb COrsair DDR3 1600 Cl9 with the setup.

Also another concern of mine is, i will be using my PII X2 550 BE, which is runnung as B50 with 4GHz stable OC on my current Biostar 790GX mobo. I should be able to unlock those cores on the new mobo too and asus mobo has core unlocking feature. I gigabyte one too has it, then i will go for it right away.

please put some light into it guys.

But your Biostar has 6 SATA ports afaik. How are you accomadating them atm? :P Besides the hard drive accomadation issue, it seems like you upgrading just for the benefit of DDR3.

Since your Biostar board seems quite satisfactory, I would highly recommend you to wait for the Bulldozer motherboards to start appearing as they will be AM3+ capable and backwards compatible with the AM3 processors. Thus you will be able to run your X2 happily on them and your motherboard will also be future proof enough to allow an upgrade to the Bulldozers as and when you wish to upgrade. :D

EDIT: Gigabyte should have Core Unlocking in the 890GPA-UD3H via its Gigabyte EasyTune software on Windows. Atleast thats how it is on my el cheapo 880G.

Thnx buddy. that was helpful.

I have to open device manager and uninstall my both DVDRWs and connect those 2 HDDS and search for new hardware each time i need to access any data from those HDDs. Tired of doing so actually.

And yes, the main purpose of upgrade is DDR3 support, and need as much as 8GB to support the apps im working on (VS 2010, SQL server 2008 and couple of virtual machines). Also the giga one has a whooping 8 internal sata ports and one esata too. WOnr be needing the bulldozer. Maybe will upgrade to the PII X6 in bout 6 months, and will go for an entirely new rig in one year when bulldozer hits the market hard.

which will be better of OC of the 2 mobos? And please confirm about the CPu unlock. Without unlock, the upgrade isnt worthy at all. My CPU is the cherry batch 0922apmw 100% success rate one.

Avoid M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 as it has a multiplier drop bug after you OC

I would recommend 890GPA-UD3H for 7.5k or 890FXA-UD5 for 10.5k

i too would recommend gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h. i am using these boards & they are fantastic & very well built for the price they sell at.

^^

Around 7.5K tops for the Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H in Bombay. About Bangalore it should be on similar lines or can be a little more expensive/ cheaper.

Dont know the correct price, but will be around 7.8k for the UD3H. Dealer will confirm the price tomorrow. Its touching 8.5k shipped via Lynx-india. I would have gone for it if the price was below 8k shipped.

Anyone knows any online store from where i can get it for a good price, at most 7.8k shipped? My local dealer was doubtful about local availability.

call Rahul and ask him that how much 890GPA-UD3H will cost including shipping charges... he must b having this board... if not he may arrange it for u ;)

the board along with x6 1055t sells for 16600. assuming the 1055t cost is around 8.5-9k, only the board should be selling around 8k.

if i am wrong about the 1055t price then the board could be costing more.

Local cost turned out to be 8.5k Tax paid.

And lynx price too is 8.5k shipped.

no other option. rahul replied me with a mail "no stock".

Should i move ahead with the local deal then ?
