What are u guys talking about? They have compared it with a HD 3870, not a 3870X2.
Overall looks like a pretty decent competitor to both HD 3870, 8800GS and even to 8800GT on the price to performance ratio. Its no wonder if the 8800GT prices go down.

thats a totally uncool price for this card. Anyway, I guess the members can trust the dealers here to provide these cards at a far better price point. ;)
 
with the 8600gt already available for ~70$ (after rebates) the 8600gts has bcom the new 80-100$ king :p till the 9600GS or sumthing comes out .
8600gt -70-90$
8600gts-80-110$
9600gs-120-140$??
8800gs-150-160$
8800gts 320-170-180$
9600gt-180-200$ ??
8800gt 256-200$ :S
8800gt 512-220-240$

jus speculations pls dont hurl abuses :p
im finaly gonna buy a new card now :)
 
so whos gonna buy 9600 for 200$ ????:bleh: if some1 can afford that much for a gfx then sure he will think twice to spend a good 20-40$ more for a record-breaking 8800GT which is a way better than 9600GT at current driver...
 
I had a 9600GT in my hands a couple of weeks back :)

Prime has a card with them !! Not for sale only a sample working piece. I was told that it would sell for around 10+k - final price not confirmed.
 
its selling in the US for around 220$ .... so i guess the purpose is defeated coz its as much as a 3870 and for 20more you can get a 8800gt
 
MSRP is 169-189$ for the 9600GT 512MB..so it will be arnd 10k at leaunch in India & finally settling arnd 9k or so. Currently 8800GT sells for arnd 12.5k ....so 9600GT will make sense arnd 8.5~9k :)
