Hi i have a few problems with my pc

my system specs are
AMD ATHLON 3000+ 1.8GHZ
AUSS M2N-MX Motherboard
1024 DDR2 RAM
GALAXY Nvidia 8500GT video card
320 watt power supply

The problem i have is Windows XP starts up really slow i get a blank desktop for a few minutes before all my icons appear. another problem. I can play nfs carbon , splinter cell:double agent with full video options on ,but i cant play rainbow six vegas with full video options. I mean not even with low shadow options. The game runs slow laggs a lot .
the requirements for the game is 3ghz processor
1bg RAM
128MB graphics memory
Directx 9.

still the game laggs a lot.
any informaton would be greatly appreciated
 
The game is lagging because your GPU is a bottleneck. The 8500GT is probably more of a budget card, so you wont be able to run games with high settings at high resolutions. Try lowering your resolution/setting and then try.

Format the system, else remove unwanted apps from Add Remove Programs and extra entries from startup and see if the startup improves, any antivirus u got? which one?

As for games lagging, what Amaresh said...
 
your power supply enough?

320 is pretty low i suggest at least a 450.

and check the amount of processes you have in your taskmanager

pm me the processes so i cant further help you with it..
 
i have the same config except remove the GFX card and its runs fine but

i have a X1600 512mb DDR2 which is pretty much a good card since i can play R6V and Lost Planet kinda game on high to medium setting and ya the power supply is important i have a 600W PSU which is more than enough.

also try using OMEGA Drivers for your card cuz i use them myself. its very stable.
 
lol. some members arent that rich, you know.

anyway you're real lucky to be able to play double agent maxed out.many people have problems with bugs and optimisation problems

vegas is just another poorly optimised port,with weird lag spots all around.

there's a sticky in the official rainbowsix forums if im not wrong that boasts quite a decent collection of performance tweaks.
