Game suggestions for School gaming event

Our school computer tech fest is coming up and i'm suppose to get the gaming event up and running by the 30th of oct.

Here's what ive decided so far.

Quake 3 for the preliminary round (16 people)
??? For the semifinals (8 people)
Wii sports on the wii ! (2 People) on a lg 42"lcd in our school's av room :P

Any suggestions ? Pls note that school pc's are stock hp one's with 512 ram and onboard gfx.
 
NFS is a good choice esp. OLD SKOOL nfs - the non street race kind.... if you can then use it - its a crowd puller...
 
I had put HL 1 Multi Player in my school and had met with a great response and my lab had the same PCs as yours--HP 512 ram
 
don't change the game every round :S if you're having q3, stick to it.. and keep other games separately. since it's a fun college tournament, you can even try CS 2v2. many people would know it.
 
Try NFS4 or NFS 6 HP2.

HL - Uplink is also good for deathmatch. You can find loads of good maps for it. Definately a crowd grabber.

Q3, all time fav, will do well too.
Serious Sam and UT may put some extra strain on those machines if there are more than 8 people playing at a time.
However, as suggested by Ashr above, stick to one game only. No need to change it every round.
CS 2 on 2 would be a good idea too, but may be too time consuming.
 
How about Call of duty ?

@keane --Don't want ut as we kept it last year too.

Changing games works well, Have bin doin it every year, It Keeps the Whiiney gamers happy who suck at fps

Ohh!! its MODEM rite i have been there many times myself (love the FOOD. . lol). . yeah i personally found a new game in every round a bit frustrating ,though I came first in gaming one time i dont remember which year it was.. i was from M.I.S

I remember we had to form teams in CS with a person from another school . . that was funny.. . and that time i remember your lab MSEB blew and their was smoke everywhere.

We're doing quake 3 for the preliminary round and nfs pro street (If it comes out by the 30th) on the lcd via my pc !
 
You shouldn't have new games in a tournament. The last thing you want is an embarrassing newb fest. Just go with some of the older NFS titles like MW or UG2.
