I'm part of the organizing committee for my college's fest and my department is the Multiplayer games. I have few queries and doubts, please help me out ASAP fellow gaming brethren.

!!! WARNING A few questions maybe n00bish by your standards but please do answer them.

1. What is the Counter Strike's latest version?

2. Is Counter Strike a free game, I ask as I've heard that it can be played on Linux too using WINE.

3. To run on different systems, will I need a legit copy of CS for every system?

4. How can I schedule the server to automatically exclude players from the next match if they die in the current match?

5. Tactical Ops, is it a good FOSS alternative for CS?

These are a few that were buggin' me the most, more to come as I encounter more problems.

OK, new problem, How to stop players from using Cheat Codes etc. ?
 
1. CS 1.6 which is frequently updated by Steam. Just run CS over Steam and it should update to the latest version.

2. No, it isn't free. It isn't very expensive though.

3. Technically, yes. I don't think people follow it though.

4. Why would you want to do that?

5. I believe the game are very different and thereby TO isn't really an alternative.

"Cheat codes" cannot be used unless the server enables them. Cheat programs however can be installed if people really want to cheat.

So if I use the single copy to for multiple systems then wud that make it "Illegal"? I don't wanna do anything "Pirated" here.
Can anybody tell me the price and availability of the following titles and from where can I get 'em?
  1. CS-Source
  2. AOE 3
  3. NFS-MW
  4. Cric 07
  5. FIFA 08
