I really dont find a solid reason why ppl choose the wireless one over the wired one;

The wired one has an ample wire length of over 2-3 meters sufficient for u to hook ur X360/PC to a 50incher plasma and sit 10-21 yards away;

Besides u'll have to charge the batteries of the wireless ones, once it starts draining out and keep some spare ones ready once it drains out!! Sometimes a real PITA; :(

agreed, the wired one is a lot LESS hassle, esp. when I'm gaming on a PC. So lets focus on which one to get out of Xbox ctrlr & Rumblepad 2

both rumblepad2 and xbox 360 controller do not support rumble for all games...

xbox 360 controller is b8r than rumblepad2 in terms of build, placement of buttons nd features...almost all new games hv a support for xbox 360 rumble like
.... crysis, bioshock, assassins, dirt, gears

rumble is game dependent. it WILL not work in ALL games with EITHER controllers. there will be quiet a few where it wont work at all or it will work in a broken fashion.

the wireless controller for me is a good thing coz i keep moving around all over my room :p.. also the fact that its cordless means tht it has a lil bit of heft(thanks to the batteries) feels damn good in the hand. extremely comfortable to use.

and gannu.. WAKE UP :P :P 3 meters = 3.2808399 yards what have you been smoking? ive used the logitech from a distance of over 15 meters :P (dont ask me for what)

i can also use my logitech as a mouse/remote control.

i have 4 camelion nimh batts + a charger. on a full charge batteries last for around a month, with abt an hour of playing everyday. i got the batt+charger combo for 300 bucks.. normal duracell alkalines will last for again arnd a month easily.

Both are similar in build quality.

Build on both the controllers is similar. i have thrashed my logitech controller all over the place... dropped it a gazzilliong times and spilt n number of soft drinks/coffees/beer on it... even dropped it into a bucket with soaking clothes once :P

still going strong!

the rumble is a feature that needs to present in the game. Not all games feature rumble support. the x360 controller being newer means that a lot of the newer games support it(thanks to microsofts Games For Windows thingy)

as far as placement of buttons goes.. eitherways ur going to start off new. they are both good in their own ways, with the logi's parallel analogs and the x360's crossways analogs.

imo the ergonomics of the logi makes it a better overall fit in the hand.

logi is more expensive coz its cordless. if you find that the extra premium is not worth it, go for the x360 controller with eyes closed.

Errr... I just meant that literally; :ashamed:

Not to bring abt the exact distance references; :bleh:

bought the Rumblepad 2 - "Wireless" (Rs.2200)

bought the cordless version since it will serve me as a remote for VLC player while watching movies ;)

I have rumblepad 2 but never used it .. (bought it from vij) .

Although used it as a mouse :p

If you're based in delhi you can take mine..

hehe -- u caught me a day late - I already wrote I "BOUGHT"..

Anyway I may need it for my cousin, so PM me ur best price.. yes I'm in Delhi only.

one advantage of the xbox 360 controller over rumble pad 2 is that it has got two triggers

they work on the basis of the extent 2 wch dey r pressed...

for eg.. if u play DiRT with it by pressing the triggers half way only half of the full acceleration is provided... this is a gr8 feature...

yeah u r rite...

the can b.. but the joysticks r not v stable...if u use them as ur mouse pointer..
they r v sensitive.. whereas triggers can b used safely...

try using joysticks as mouse pointers nd jus sensitively press d joystick on 1 side... it keeps on moving in that side v v slowly...

whereas this doesnt happen wid triggers...
i experienced this wid my friend's rumblepad 2

How much would a Wireless Xbox360 Controller for Windows cost?

I want to buy 1

mr47, I don't think there is one. It's only the wired ones for the PC. I wouldn't mind getting a Xbox360 controller myself. I wonder how OKAAAY they are with MS Flight Simulator although I would use it mostly for some GRID. I use the keyboard currently.

Im guessing a regular wireless 360 controller would also work with the PC, all that is need is a signal/IR reciever?

dont buy wireless 1 it will cost u arnd 2500/- whole setup

but the wired 1... it has a 9 feet long wire with it.. for 1.5k :hap2:

but thers 1 bug with these controllers...the joystick wen released does comes 2 d centre properly... ull hv 2 use pinnacle game profiler for that..

for eg. if in most wanted acc is provided by 1 of d joysticks...
then wen d joystick is released u may find ur car moving v v slowly @ 3-4km/h....

due 2 this pinnacle game profiler is used 2 make a deadzone..
