Well since my exams are over me and one of my friend .. who isnt a TE member planning to organise a gaming competition here.
1> we have selected a venue its not much flashy and bling bling place but its huge place we got it for aournd rs 350 per day only!!!
need some easy ideas to make it attractive its a huge hall [ a place called "sat sang" where cultural programs r normally organised ]

2> yet to prepare hand bills along with adds and stuffs. we r targetting a minimum of 200 gamers.

3> CSS and UT2003 we will be keeping these 2 games .
4> 11 pcs with one server. cant get more as lack of reosurces still we r in search of 6 pcs. the server is ready and a pretty good one.
5> hp , samsung , airtel etc etc probably wud sponsor us .. hp is almost confirm.
6> as a kickstart of the enthusiastic market here there would be some product info in the displays too.
7>i have planned to use linux and host the css server in linux to get rid of liscensing hastles and also i'm yet to take permission from valve "arranging for it probably wud find some way"
Entry fees are rs 50 and there will be very attractive 1st prizes. even forms will be distributed in schools.

lemme know what are the modifications needed here .. from the official site everything is cleared as we wont need to pay any tax we will get all necessary security etc etc..

OFCOURSE , need a huge TE banner .. :D :ohyeah: i hope mods wud arrange for stuffs like those.

my problems r in the pc part but i am gathering em will keep all updated and notified .. !!

where u r arranging this?

If place is large you can also arrange BYPC. So people who choose to can bring their own PCs at the venue to game on.

good effort (hopefully) man....

why dont you ask em sponsors to supply prebuilt machines just for the tourney. i had done such a thing for a gaming tourney at my college. arranged over a 100 comps. it shud be easier for you.

The place is really large atleast 50 pcs can accomodate at ease..
but problem here is how many guys knows how to bring their cpus and game on :bleh and mostly most of em play at cafes and own a p4 intel tagged machine.
this is a erffort to start the enthusiastic market here too as i know ppls who r ready to spend money on pc's but dont know tht even a rs 5000 cabinet can exist!

i needs some info in the topology and config on server have more than a month in hand so wud slowly grip those things.!
presently my target is to run 5 : 1 machine setup in linux successfully at my home and check.
then lets see if i can organise like u said. i need some help in it.

will take a pic of the place and post within today.

thats a very good idea i'll place it infront of the sponsors .. one thing the dealer said just get me a official letter i've never approached a sponsor before need idea how to approach i mean as in officially rest is upto my good old frnds :bleh:. karan gimme a rough idea what to include in the application letter and how to start and end.
 
No its Kharagpur and Midnapore Merged but since Midnapor has better places and easy access i'd say we r organising here. its 8 kms away from KGP where there is IIT.
