PC Peripherals Gaming Config for 30k

Hey ppl,I needed some help.Well want to go fr a new rig,basically for gaming.So can any of you guys suggest a nice config,my budget it 30k for the cpu.
 
Pentium D 805 - 7-8k.

ASUS P5LD2-VM Mobo - 5k

Powersafe PSU+Zebronics Cabinet - 4k

1GB Trascend DDR RAM - 4.5k

BenQ DW 1650 - 2.8k

Thermaltake Big Typhoon CL-P0114 120mm Cooling Fan with Heatsink - 3k

160GB SATA II HDD - <4k.
 
^^ How is he supposed to you DDR RAM on the P5LD2-VM mate :).

He needs DDR2.

The P5LD2-VM is for 7k not 5k.

Also, you havent talked about the Graphics card. Hes gonna need atleast a 6600GT if he wants a rig for Gaming.

Hey,thank you guys for quick response.Well actully i'd prefer somethng on AMD 64 platform.And my budget is 30k for cpu only as i already have a monitor
 
^^Ahh u mean everything inside the cabby. Thats not called cpu mate, cpu is the processor only.

Athlon 64 3000+ 5.1k

2X512 MB DDR 400 RAM 3.8k

Asrock 939 Dual SATA II mobo 3.6k ( good advice Raghu :D)

160/200 GB HDD -3.4/3.6k

Benq 1650 DVD writer 2.5k

Cabinet+PSU - 4k

6600 GT or 7600 GS graphics card 8k-9k

Go for the 7600GS ... read the 6600GT vs. 7600GS comparison on techtree.com ...
 
If he is looking for gaming, then why is he going for Intel !

Go for AMD 3000+ - 5400

ASUS A8N-E - 5400

BIG Geforce 7600 GT - 12000

1 GB ram - 3.5k

80 GB Sata - 2400

450W Colorsit PSU + cabby - 1400

CD-ROM - 700

Or go for a used 7800 Gt from the forums for 14k and get an AMD Sempron 2500+ for 2.5k + Asrock Dual sata 2 mobo - 3600
 
^^ Your comparing the Lowst perfroming AMD's to Mid range Intels, that too the Dual Cores that hes thinking about.

Seriously speaking, Intel isnt that bad as most people here think.

Well, it obviously isnt bad now. But, Dual Core for 7k with the 805.

Well not awesome if all he is going to do is play games and movies and program some codes....obv they are all wrk well with AMD 64
Obviously he is also not going to do these tasks at once...

But again I cant think of buying a non dual core proc...maybe it suits my needs better but even otherwise....
 
He already got a proccy+mobo, thats what he said to me when i called him up. (He said he wanted to buy my stuff, then said he has already got it) He also got a 6600"Version no Idea".

Well if u want only gaming then look no further than this

If u want a dual core processor tho, u can go with the Pentium D 805 which is for 6k and a Intel D101 GGC mobo which i think is ~4k. Rest of the config is the same.
 
I still feel reduce hard disk size, get a CD-ROM and get a Geforce 7600 GT. You can easily add another hard disk and a writer later on when you have the cash. There is a decent improvment in the 7600 GT over the GS.

Reducing the HDD size would not be such a wise thing to do as prize Diff between 200/160 and 120GB is not that subtantial...:no: :no:

Getting a 200GB now would be better than getting a 120 GB now and getting 80/120 GB after a few months. same case with DVD Writer also.

Instead, try and see if you can increase your budget a wee bit to accomodate the 7600GT...;)
 
yea exactly. a 80 GB HDD is 2.5k, while a 160 GB is 3.4k. No use goin for a lower capacity hard disk. And why do u need two optical drives if u arent gonna copy on the fly. DVD writer is pretty much standard nowadays. In any case you will only save like 2.5k while the 7600 GT costs around 4k more than the GS.
 
Yeah what you both say is true, but IF he cannot increase his budget, then I feel he should get a better Graphics card first since he is going to play games primarily.

If he can accomodate the GT, 160 GB hdd and DVD Burner by increasing his budget a bit then so much the better. Else he should go for GT first and get a bigger hdd and writer later, since they are easy to install and dont cost much. However if he gets a GS now, upgrading to anything better is expensive as he has to sell the GS for a substantial loss (as prices will be reducing quite fast) and get a better GPU.
