Laptops Gaming laptop for around 40k.

Guys,a friend of mine wants a laptop basically for playing games and watching HD movies. His budget is around 40k,stretchable to 45k.That's it.
Need some suggestions considering that the laptop should have a good display and 'sufficient' punch to play normal games like Call of Duty 4/NFS Prostreet at normal settings.:p

Anything with an nvidia 8400gs or higher will serve your purpose..So start searching..:p

Not in 40k :p

In 40k ur pretty much looking at integrated graphics etc. If you can bump up to 50, look at the dell studio series for one. THe studio 14 should be in that range :)

Get Asus N50 or N80,

these two have smokin hot 9650gt 1024 MB, under their hood

Dunno about its availability here in India, but its available for 899 usd n 949 usd resp on newegg.com

Though its really sad to see even after more than a year, the deal i got seems to be very very good:eek:hyeah:

That was when dell EPP was available and had huge discounts :p, right? ;)

Try the same laptop now that EPP is much reduced. The same lappy will probably be closer to 50k I guess.

My friend also got a Vostro recently (Sep if i remember correctly) - new 8xxx series 2.xghz processor, 2gb ram, 250gb hdd, 8400gs - all this for around 42k. No OS though! It was bought through a shop called Landmark in Noida - try finding their details on the web and give them a call.

Is this the one:
Dell Vostro 1510 - Laptop

^^ Yup, it does look like that one and it is 15.4" - its the Vostro N series if that helps.

The specs are the same with the main difference being that my friend's laptop has the T8100 (2.1ghz i think) but did not come preloaded with any OS.

Nope, no EPP...And yes took a 9cell battery and wifi N also..:D all inclusive..
IMO, the rates have remained static or actually increased, and dollar is not the reason..
