Hello Sunny
thanks for the quick reply
the rig you made looks quite good
but, i have a few points:-
1)Is the motherboard you mentioned readily available?

2)i am not really comfortable buying 2nd hand , so would go for HD5670 (or HD5750 if budget permits)

3)i am a little confused about the psu, is it a reliable one?
do i need to spend more to get a cx400?
efficiency is not the issue
system stability definitely is.

1) the motherboard is readily available or you could go for the gigabyte GA-MA74GMT-S2 its a good ddr3 based board on the amd 740g chipset from gigabyte @ 2550rs. It has 2 ddr3 slots which can take upto 1333mhz ddr3 ram. If you want a psu you can go for the corsair vx450. My friend has a brand new corsair vx450 which he's not used and can part with for 3200rs with bill and warranty.

2) you have already have 8k is you see the calculations I've made above -you can easily get a good 4870 or 5770.

the gigabyte GA-MA74GMT-S2 is a good value board

but it is HT1.0 support only

i heard that HT 1.0 cripples newer athlon processors severely

are there any people using the Gigabyte PSU in this forum?

what has been their feedback on the psu?

i will go for CX400 if there is less than 500bucks difference

avoid cx 400 go for vx 450. you can easily opt for the msi 770-c45 board but bear in mind there's no onboard video.

^^ local Ahmedabad dealer. Prime Agb has the ddr2 version of the same board for 2800rs.
Not able to find even the DDRII version listed in the prime website. Your local dealer seems to have loads of options at cheaper prices. Lucky blokes :)

call up prime and ask meenal for msi 770t-c45 that's the ddr2 board.

okay. Anyways guess OP is not willing to buy online as he has just mentioned as WB in the options. So it would better if he goes to chandini and finds out availability and pricing.

^^

no i am looking for DDR3 options only

lets hope i find the board sunny mentioned!!

now if i dont find the msi 770 c45

what other options do i have sub 4k?(any brand other than asus)

MSI 785GM-E51 ~ 4-4.3k

Biostar TA785G3 ~ 3.8k

@OP : Instead of the Athlon X4 - Go with the originally planned X3 435 + Biostar 785G will save about 1.2k net ...

Also , Go for the normal rams i.e Kingston Value RAM DDR3 - Will save about 700-800 bucks

Well , IMO instead of the CM310 you could opt for a normal Zebby Bijli Case - Save 500

The X3 is a pretty VFM chip - Its got pretty good reviews from a na nd tech and tom s hard ware ,

Then on, If You you could add in about 500-1000 bucks from somewhere in this wide world you'd be able to squeeze in a HD5770 , That will definitely put things on top gear :)

bad news

neither Biostar Nor MSI mobos are available here

only some asus and some pricey gigabyte

i am having confusion whether to go for Giga 74gmt s2

does anyone have a link to this mobo's review anywhere?

whether this mobo actually cripples the proccy or igp!

another point is this mobo is PCIe 1.0

not many cards nowadays are backwards compatible with this age old slot

they are compatible with Pcie 1.1 at the least but 1.0 gives some troubles AFAIK!! :(

If ur in Kolkata, i can give you the contact details of the vendors from whom i used to purchase.
You will get most of the hardware from them.

actually i am not in kolkata!!:(

But i would appreciate it if i get the contact details of people stocking MSI and sapphire parts

i have some relatives and friends there who can buy the mobo and gpu and send it to me by bus then :)

if u find difficulty in getting mobo then u can opt for other option.Look at intel core i3+Intel original H55 mobo.Intel mobo lack features like overclocking, voltage increase/decrease for ram cpu but r rock solid and best compatibility. Core i3 gives performance equal to phenom II x2 in gaming.

Ram: Corsair xms3 ddr3

Cabinet:look at iball brilliance it has 120mm rear fan.its available for Rs.1650 including vat.ucan get this for 1100 w/0 psu.

PSU:giabyte superb 460 or fsp saga II 500w

and at least buy 5750 for gaming
