Hi,

You can check this out as well ..

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition

ASUS M4A87T-D Motherboard

4GB DDR3 Dual Channel RAM

500GB SATA II HDD

Lian LI - Lancool PC-K62 Premium Gaming Case

nVIDIA / ATi Graphics Card - High End

Roccat Kova 3200 DPI Optical Gaming Mouse

Roccat Sense Gaming surface

ASUS 18.5" LED Monitor

This setup should cost you around 45 grands....this is a total value for money rig...you can always choose to go for a 22"cher LED...that wont be too expensive but will give you a much better over all experience :)

n dont think that AMD 555 black aint a good proccy...it should do just fine for your requirement...

^ Hades is pretty much accurate. And if you want an ATI card you can opt for a HD 6850 1 GB. And you can buy a Cheap Microsoft Keyboard and MX 518, will reduce the price further.

In gaming i5 2500 beats every AMD processor... outperforms even i7 950/960 in gaming... And suggesting him a SB rig is better than suggesting him an already old ready to die AM3 rig... And BTW Ivy Brigde processors would be backward compatible with P67/H67 chipset motherboards... So the SB rig that i've suggested above is more powerful, power efficient and futureproof so going with an SB based rig now is a no brainer thing to do... :)

+1 Hades. Just go ahead with SB configuration.

@cool_chap- He strictly wants a SB proccy.

guys thanks for the input
what about the UPS though, i believe i need it to protect the rig,( we have very much a japan like situation in bangalore, rolling blackouts w/o the earthquakes, thankfully).
i enquired with ashirwad APS ups costs 4.5K
also i want a graphics card which wont be obsolete for at least 2 Years
is that possible with MSI GTX560 twin frozr?

ATM you will have to compromise on the UPS. Get one later. I would suggest you get a Red Team HD6950 2GB version. See the batch dated somewhere around December which can be unlocked to a HD6970. Let other members comment about its availability.

hmm....aite...all i was saying is @ 45kz , it is a pretty decent rig....

So , just replace the AMD board/cpu with Intel...and the rest remains the same.....wat say?

and for GPU, strictly recommended HD6950 1 or 2GB
You do know that a GTX 560 Twin Frozr II from MSI has the same performance + price (same as 1GB, cheaper than 2GB) and comes with PHYSX and CUDA right?

Hades has suggest a more or less perfect rig.

However, I would suggest a Core i5 2500k. Also, you can either get the 6950 or 560. However, personally I would recommend the 2 gb 6950 as it is much much more future proof and just costs about 3k more, besides being faster in some stuff even today!

guys thanks for the support
i checked with aashirwad yesterday. he seems to be most competitive on price
however he does not the gigabyte mobo, instead he insists i go for msi p67a gd55 b3 at 9.5K
also he doesnt seem to have the red team hd 6950
considered my 60K budget constraint, should i go for hades's config or make any changes
Please help!!!! i want to finalise by saturday
thanks

If he does not have AMD cards, you should try for a GTX 560 ti Twin Frozr II from MSI, its a very decent card.

havok only in amd?? :p

Havoc is developed by intel..its not gpu specific and it uses Cpu for physics calculations..!
yhea i got that, no no i was only mentioning havok and stream like nvidia chanters cuda and pissx...

The thinng is, unless u r a cuda developer, chances are u r never gonna use that feature, which makes it more of a gimmick(Like 1GB 9400GT cards)

If u can spend 1k more then buy the above rig... MSI P67A-GD55 is a really great mobo so you can buy it eyes closed... I know that most of its features would be useless for you now like CFX/SLI, overclocking ability etc etc but in the future those features would come in handy when you would be upgrading to ivy bridge or in the future if u would like to add another GTX560...

But if you cant spend 1k more then buy this

Processor Intel Core i5 2500 10250

Motherboard Asus P8H67 M LE (B3 Revision) 6500

RAM Corsair XMS3 1600MHz CL9 4GB Stick 2600

GPU Sapphire HD6950 2GB 16200

Mouse Razer Death Adder 2100

Mousepad Razer Goliathus Speed Edition Omega 500

DVD Writer Samsung / LG / Sony 950

Total 60300

Included an HD6950 2GB in this config as it unlocks into HD6970... And after unlocking it... it performs like GTX570... :)
