GeeXboX is a free Linux distribution providing a media center software suite for personal computers. GeeXboX uses MPlayer for media playback and is implemented as a Live CD. As such, the system does not need to be permanently installed to a hard drive, as most modern operating systems would. Instead, the computer can be booted with the GeeXboX CD when media playback is desired.

Let it load and then take out the geexbox dvd, and put watever you want.

Yep.. Geexbox loads into memory . .No neeed to use CD after loading if finished.. It automatically ejects the CD after loading is finished :)

can i install it in myxp or the only way to acces it is through live cd? iam a noob at linux so forgive my ignorance :(

1) you can install it on your Hdd

2) You can install it on a thumb drive

3) you can install on a CD/DVD

Its a linux distro made specially / only for multimedia playback. hence, you can use it on windows ONLY through virtualization..
