Graphic Cards Geforce 8400gs 512mb Help !!!

This is my config
Processor : Intel core 2 quad Q8300 @ 2.50ghz
Motherboard : Asus P5QPL-AM
Memory : 4gb
OS : Windows vista 32bit
Graphic card : Geforce 8400GS 512mb
PSU : No idea , i have a circle cabinet and it was inbuilt

I have tried 2 play battle field 2 and GTA IV but it was laggy like hell and with same graphic card i have seen in youtube people playing the same game without any lagg ...and very smoothly , I have also downgraded the graphic options in the game still it's not able to play whats wrong here some1 please tell me
 
M8, 8400gs is not that good GPU. It shares memory from your RAM. GS means shareable. Moreover did you update the drivers for your card ?. Try running the games in XP. Vista is a resource hogger and comparitively games might run even better in WIN 7. But for your gfx card IMO XP is the best. Forget the rest until you upgrade your GPU.
 
8400GS is too weak to handle the games.. You've got a pretty decent config otherwise.. I'd suggest you upgrade to a better graphics card..
 
Fine thnkx every1 for the quick replies ....i will try to install XP and use the latest drivers and by the way is there any good graphic card which will play most of the games for around 5K ....let me know then and will try reinstalling xp and will let you guys know the result !!
 
What PSU do you have? If you have a good PSU then get a XFX 512MB DDR3 9800GT~5.5k.

If its a generic one then stick to the MSI 1GB DDR3 HD4670 ~ 4.5k
