GeForce 8800GTS 320MB On Sale

Just as expected, the GeForce 8800GTS 320MB cards have already hit the stores last weekend at the Singapore's Sim Lim Square. As usual, Leadtek and MSI have reached and both are going for S$509 (US$331), slightly higher than the suggested price of US$299. Well, this is the slight premium you have pay to get the cards earlier than February 12th, the official launch date. Performance is just about the same as the 640MB version unless in high resolution.

Imho this should be available here within a few weeks under 20k price point.
 
That 640MB version is due a price drop...IMO 640 MB adds that little future proofing especially for those who game on larger monitors. And the sheer number of processing units means this card 'can actually' use all that memory unlike some 512 MB 6200 fiascos we've all seen a bit earlier:P
 
No point buying any card now if you own a last generation high end card... Wait for a while for the new games to come up... Cause current games just doesn't need that much power...

so true ..... i am yet to find a game which doesn't give good fps on my setup :D ..... if u are in 3D marks run its another story ;)

thats y i haven't tried rainbow 6 vegas lol ..... jk

Actually true. Even older games like FEAR and Oblivion look much better on an 8800 series card. In fact FEAR looks better on nvidia now :P but ofcourse I was never a fanboi...
 
^^Thats cause they've cleaned up their IQ act with the 8 series. With so much power under the hood and nothing to compare with Nvidia did not cut corners wrt IQ like the 6 and 7 series. IQ is currently better than ATi, but ATi will surely come out with some innovations with the x2k series.

i know IQ ia better and games looks much better on 8 series ....... have 2 of them with me :P ....... lol

but i think the price u have to pay for upgrading the card, IQ doesn't justify that .....

anyways just got my hands on a 320MB card so far it looks good ...... will try to post a review soon :)
