I HOPE U PPL WILL LOVE THIS SMALL ARTICLE/GUIDE.:D

some background or OT.-

My internet service provider is Sify broadband ,,and thier local manager is a really a bad man..and blocked all our DC ++ connections(for those who dont know whts DC ++ is -http://www.techenclave.com/forums/ultimate-guide-dc-and-breaking-myths-81228.html)

e-a share 2-7 TB and download speeds of around 1-3 mbps..from the past 3 days i was very sad..as i could not play CS with my frnds on LAN and also no 3mbps download speeds.from the local LAN using DC ++..all our work..of starting it again had failed cauz all ips an ports sumthing sumthing were internally firewalled and DC ++ was completely banned,.these sify ppl told us that they will only start later in december cauz many ppl didnt renew thier net connections and just useed the LAN for dc ++ connections. so everything was..all going the wrong way.

untill my frnd came up with this..

i myself dont know much how to host files and all ..but u can get all the required info in the above link.anything more.i will tell u later do ask. me though i am myself getting used to it and learning it from my frnd.

now i can connect to most of da old users by just typing their ip addresses after they have shared their files and download @ around 3mbps..

i wanted to share this with u guy so tht if some of u ppl live nearby and are connected to each other by the same internet or LAN ..then maybe u can try this ..this is really really awesome.

note :

this one's only for people connected over local LAN .and i dont think it will work for ppl using ADSL router connections.

this can be an easy alternative to DC ++.

i think web server hosting is legal untill and unthen the files shared on it are legal.

IF MODS FEEL THAT ANYTHING IN THIS SHORT GUIDE OR ARTICLE IS INAPPROPRIATE. THEN PLEASE DO TELL ME AND CAN IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE WHOLE THREAD OR EDIT THE PART OF IT.

I think many of the local cable operators who also turn up as ISP or take franchise of various ISP ...give internet through LAN.

i think EXATT is one of them in mumbai..and if not mistaken Iqara and Hathway..also provide. internet by LAN in mumbai..

not sure about other places..:)
 
I don't get it - if they are blocking LAN, then that means even this shouldn't work. What is possible is that they are just blocking a few ports... in which case you can just change the DC++ ports accordingly.

actually the thing is to use dc++ a few ppl use to host the hubs..at a particular hub and others use to connect ..and the ip ranges of the hubs and connecting users had to be different or u could not connect..

the thing was -same ip range users could not connect to each other or the same range hub.

so we knew most of da ip ranges of sify all over NAVI MUMBAI .so we had to do a lot..of changes in the ip settings and then connect to the hubs. but now sify has done something..by which u can't ping to another ip range from one ip range means. i can't ping from 10.15.27.xx to 10.40.110.xxx which i used to do earlier to connect to the hubs..but now ip range to ip range has been blocked or firewalled makin ip almost impossible to connect users from all over the place at SIFY..

i hope u understood what i am trying to say..cauz i dnt have much info about this.. !



anywayz.ppl havin internet through LAN,if possible try this..software and tell me..if it works. for U.!!
 
:) well i had already tried this nd yeah its true....u get speeds in mbps always.i got 4mbps....but this is lik user to user share....u cant search for files .....or u cant kno wen the ftps are on.......
the sify people hav i think activated vLand around navi mumbai...........so dc++ cant be connected...
since u said they wud start it in dec end....waitin wid my fingers crossed
