First, this is not my own method, i just found it here: Download Free Norton Antivirus 2012 For 6 Months | TECHSNAP BLOG
The procedure is as follows:
1. Download and install the german version of Norton Antivirus 2009 from the link provided in the site.
2. Register on the symantec site and get a product key.
3. Install Norton Antivirus 2012 and use that product key to get 180 days subscription. (note it will uninstall NAV 2009 installed in step 1)

Btw, the NAV2009 installation doesn't have to be done on the same machine. You just need to do it once so you can register and get the product key. After that the NAV2012 install can be done anywhere and anytime, not sure how many PCs, the key can be used on but i used it on the same pc with dual boot under xp and 7 and it worked fine.
