Visit www.eurodns.com . They're giving away free domain names with some newly created extensions like .be etc for free (for 1 year) .
This ain't like other free domain name providers(like .tk), which put Ads in u'r site, its Ad free.
 
I Got a free .be domain from www.e3internet.ru some days back. Got it working last nite. You can still register for the free .be domain. Its absolutely free for 1 year - no hiddencharges. 10 Signups/IP. I myself registered for about 5 domains. It doesnt have url forwarding , only settings that can be changed are the Nameservers. Currently i have forwarded it to my blog.

No, No guyz ( .be) domains are completely free for everyone, from every country, VAT is also not applicable for them.Try Registering with Belgium ( .be ) Domains.I myself have also registered 3 .be domains :)
 
whats the use of having a domain for just a year thats no good if you want to promote your website for anything commercial anyway nice find though

Well, you can renew your domain after 1 year if you want it to use further.
Also they have no transfer fees clause, meaning you can easily renew your domain, after one year with any domain registerer, without having to pay them any transfer fees.

When in business you give out things for free for promotion. After one year they will have many users who would like to continue with their domains and will pay for it.

It was announced in November 2005 that the initial registration of domains would be free until the beginning of 2006, though with some limits on the number any individual was allowed to register. This was remarkably popular, with some 17,000 registrations coming in on the first day of the promotion.
