I have not seen Hitachi T7K series drives locally - the ones available here are the older 7K series, these are also good drives, I have 2 of them.

My drives have Cyberstar Infocom - Chennai labels on them.

I posted a thread on a comparison of 250GB drives here....

hey, getting Win 98SE installed on a SATA HDD is a piece of cake.. its only when u need to install XP u gotta have the relevant drivers in a floppy.. or have a customised XP boot CD. thats what i have learnt from experience.

Are you sure the drive is a T7K series ? Because the last time I checked all the Hitachis in the market were the older 7K series. These T7K series are real KILLER drives..... errr....... let me clarify the drives dont get killed - they kill the competition :) Check the link I posted above for 250Gb drive comparisons.

No Masky bro. only if you are setting up a Raid array in XP you require the Raid Controller Drivers during XP pre-setup process.
if it is a stand alone single SATA Drive installation the Drivers are not needed.

yeah, that's for "STAND ALONE" single 120GB Seagate SATA HDD & not in RAID

My Dealer said outrightly WIN98SE not possible in a SATA HDD,with even some engineers from MS(sitting beside him) said so & even when i told em 2 try out win 98Se 2 sata HDD,they tried but it encountered prob by saying "INVALID SYSTEM DISK...etc"

@ DJ, Apo: oops.. lemme clarify, on Intel boards u dont need the driver floppy.. on my nF2/nF4, i have needed the driver floppy :D

Edit:

havent tried instaling XP on nF4 without the sata driver floppy.. after what i had to do with my old nF2, i always keep a floppy ready for nF4 too..
