i am getting this from a frnd with 2gb of ram..
so i am postponing my upgrade till haswell is out..

now question is
1.can i overclock on this board?
2.what will be best ram configuration for this?
like adding 2gb more or selling this and getting 8gb..

1.Yes you can overclock on this motherboard.
2.The best option for ram would be selling the 2gb stick and getting Gskill RipjawsX 2X4GB 1600mhz-3.5k OR Corsair XMS3 2X4GB 1600mhz-3.5k
Get a good cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVo-2.2k to overclock the processor.
Hope this helps.:)

for cooler i am getting silver arrow
and can i overclock it to 4ghz?
and i dont think 1600mhz will work..
on official page it says 1333mhz
1600(oc)

Where will you source the Thermalright Silver Arrow from in Delhi?

Easily with the same cooler [Silver Arrow] you can hit ~4.5 GHz but that will be extreme and I will not suggest that for a stable day-to-day operation, wait till the Summer gets blown you can start going wild in the Winter. Till then for a daily dose of extra performance clock the processor ~3.8GHz should keep things good.

1600MHz RAM will work, you are over-clocking the processor why not dabble in a little RAM over-volting as well. Through the AMD Overdrive application it is really easy and if the RAM supports AMD Black Edition profiles, you can directly download the same and enable them in software and enjoy the benefits.

Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

getting it from mumbai gonna order cabinet, keyboard, cpu cooler
and will be overclocking rams 1st time will need your help..

Sorry the Vengeance will be a pain to use along with the Silver Arrow, if you already have purchased these modules it is best you switch to buying a Noctua NH-U12P SE2 because the fan can be adjusted for the tall heat-spreaders of the RAM.

If you have not purchased these memory modules purchase the Corsair XMS3 OR G.Skill RIPJAWS memory modules with lower profile heat-spreaders that will not hamper the Silver Arrow and other elaborate air coolers.

It is easy to over-clock RAM, there are dime-a-dozen guides and tutorials online. Also using the AMD Overdrive application is very easy.

I wont suggest you to go above 4ghz on this Motherboard as this motherboard hasnt got heatsinks on VRM's.

1600mhz ram will definitely work on this mobo without a doubt. But remember to maintain a proper CPU freq/ram freq ratio. Do not allow to run the ram modules above 1600mhz on this mobo.

As suggested above, you can try 3.8ghz, but IMO its pointless. You can run at 3.5ghz too by getting almost the same performance.

As you are planning to upgrade to haswell in near future, this combo is good enough to fulfill your needs.

Yes this mobo has had some VRM issues OP shouldn't cross 4GHZ or mobo will go kaput.Do't get vengeance as it's heat spreaders will give you trouble while placing cooler and all,Gsill RipjawsX is good enough to give you similar performance.
